    Lightbulb 400+/- cars a day - 5354 & 0 Genesee St.- 27 +/- acres = 252 apartment units

Lancaster in no way should be "Lead Agency" on the review of this project. Erie County should take control.

I am quite sure - our present Supervisor doesn't know that - Years ago Councilmember Ruffing ( and other supporters) wanted to buy the driving range from the owner for "Town Use" - can you see another "Colecraft" type purchase here ?

Its far to easy in Lancaster to hide or minimize a life/traffic altering project - such as this one that could add 400 or more cars a day to the already over crowded - some times dangerous Genessee and Harris Hill area.

This project should receive a full blown public review and public publishing of a up to date traffic impact study. How can anyone believe adding that much more traffic to a already narrow - over crowded road could be good for the area ??????????

Request for lead agency designation for Town of Lancaster for rezone application of +/- 27.5 acres at 5354 & 0 Genesee St. from R-1 & RCO to MFR-4 for construction of 252 apartment units.

Unless theres some error - this address - 5354 Genesee St. is listed as a home with:
    Bedrooms:
    2 bedsBathrooms:1 bath
    Single Family:1,148 sq ft
    Lot:0.64 acres
    Year Built:1952
    Last Sold:Oct 2005 for $168,000

Where did you see the following: Request for lead agency designation for Town of Lancaster for rezone application of +/- 27.5 acres at 5354 & 0 Genesee St. from R-1 & RCO to MFR-4 for construction of 252 apartment units?

Is the developer Bella Vista tha same company that wanted to build the 252 apartment complex a short distance away on Harris Hill?

You're 400 vehicle per day estimate for 252 apartments sounds low to me.

Donna Stempniak looked as if she was campaigning for the 143rd assembly seat tonight as a Bowmansville resident spoke against the 252 apartment proposal which would be located across the street from him. she told him to come to the Planning board meeting and if there was any questions that he wanted her to propose to the planning board, he should give her a note as she is the TB's liason to the planning board and as liason she is able to speak while the resident is not allowed to.

Residents who object to this project must quickly contact neighbors and educate them. Only a limited number of residents were notified - that's by besign. Don't waite to talk with planning or zoning Board Members - gather petitions and send letters.

    Send your letters to:

    Town Clerk J.Coleman
    21 Central Ave,
    Lancaster, NY 14086
    Attn: Town Board

Add a "Request to give copies to Town Board Members" - Please include this letter into the Town Board Communications.

Express your feelings and concerns - safety life change and so on. Ask for a written response. Be polite and issue oriented - don't get personal.

The "Liaison" actually doesn't represent the tax payers - she has a habit of running people in circles - misleading tax payers and trying to keep you quiet until they can pass the needed project approvals. She has never once stopped a project for any group of concerned tax payers.

Don't hesitate to make phone calls - write letters - post here - go to Town Hall Meetings and be heard. Write letters to the Bufnews - Lancaster Bee and the Source.

Last point that's important enough to say twice - Councilmember D. Stempniak is the Town Board Liaison to the Planning Board - as such she does not represent the tax paying home owners interests and she garners "Good Will" and Campaign support from many of the project supporters.

If Lancaster is anything like Amherst, homeowners bend over!

Mr Zaborowski, who spoke the other night was also worried about where all the water is going to go as the land now serves as a sponge.

    Your basement of course!

Then the homeowner will be blamed for not having drain tiles and a sump pump.

    143rd assembly seat

If this is still in the planning stages - All the more reason for residents to speak up quickly

    PS

If Councilman Stempniak thinks she can run for higher office without being exposed a double dipper - anti green space developers caterer !!!!! Dont think so -

I dont think even her ego can support that jump ! - Then again she seems quite comfortable at the Country Club - though, i heard she sticks out because of her bullish style. - But in her defense - she's just trying to be one of the boys !

Why as a community would we want a town to build 252 apartment buildings versus having those in the City of Buffalo?

Are these high end apartments or will they be subsidized types of apartments?

Don't make a comment like that unless you know for a fact FMD.

I would say no to the project then. All you will be doing is shifting people around while a developer profits.
