Impact Sports Performance, a Florida-based affiliate of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, has been named by the HarborCenter to operate the off-ice training facility in the downtown Buffalo destination.

Impact is considered one of the training facilities operators for both professional and amateur athletes. Run by Jason Jerome, Impact’s alumni include those who have participating in the Olympics, Major League Baseball and the National Football League. Jerome is relocating from Boca Raton to Buffalo to run the Impact Sports center.

The 5,000-square-foot off-ice training center is considered one of the key sports-based amenities in the $172 million HarborCenter, which is due to open this fall. The HarborCenter is being developed by Buffalo Sabres’ owner Terry Pegula, who also owns Pegula Sports and Entertainment.

“Impact is on the cutting edge of athletic training,” said John Koelmel, HarborCenter president. “This is not a traditional gym or fitness facility.”

The Impact center, located on the sixth floor of the HarborCenter, will virtually adjoin the complex’s two rinks, locker rooms and other off-ice facilities.
