But the oompahpah grub is still great.
I have been planning on going there for a long time, just never got around to it...
What do you recommend ordering? What are their specialties?

Is anything "Turgeon-owned" any more after their divorce?

Wasn't everything split up and then closed down?

But itdid provide the capital for Kitty Turgeon's Roycroft gambit.

Is DiPaulos still open in Blasdell ? I heard Illio passed away several years ago and didn't know if they continued on or not ....
When did Shores Orchard Downs close ? The Wursburgerhof closed why ?
    Hoaks Amour in closed ? When....why ?
There was a bar/ restraunt across from the ford plant that Ronald Reagan once went to in the mid 80's....close long ago, right next to Snyder tank...anyone recall it ?
Also there used to be an excellent Italina retraunt in the basement of what was Bella Pizza on South Park in Lackawanna.
Another restraunt I forgot the name of long ago, high end chineese food establishment on Elmwood, closed in the mid nineties I beleive.

How about take out? There was a chicken place on Delaware north of Delaware plaza that was great! And then one on West Ferry, strictly Mom and Pop, and this chicken was like home made.

Pearl and Seneca-"Garcia's Irish Pub". I think they've reopened under a new name.

The only market I could ever make a lot of money in is the super market where I buy my lottery tickets. My investment there, however, hasn't matured yet.
Other than that, I have one wild woman for thirty two years, My horses so far have proved to be pretty slow (especially this past season) but hard liquor still works.
Your pretty much on the mark in attitude anyway.

Manganos was the best. The donuts where out of this world, particularly the jelly. There bread was phenominal too!

Dipaulos is doing fine. His son operates it.
The bar you are thinking of on route 5 was Armondos they had a great clam bar on the side.

My uncle lived in the neighborhood and we used to go to Meister's frequently. They used to have those place settings with pictures of cocktails on it. Today that would be retro cool!

Lakeview Smorgasboard closed ? Our family used to go there in the early sixties, my grandfather used to go outside with me after dinner so he could enjoy a cigar and we'd watch the trains go by on either side of the place.
We used to sometimes go to the Apple grove inn as well. The big apple supper club is where we had our swim team banquet decades ago, that's closed too ?
