Wasn't that Cambria's? On Fillmore by Rodney?

They resurrected once downtown and later on Millersport.

Weren't The Cloisters, Manny's and Lord Chumley's all within eyesight of one another?

Although they're a great loss, it seems like the new restaurants on Franklin (Chophouse, Brownrouts) are carrying on the tradition.

The tradition of great Buffalo Restaurants is being carried on by the owner of:

    1. The Chop House
    2. The Brownstone Seafood House (soon to be called Tuna's)
    3. Darcy McGee's
    4. Laughlin's

This owner has done more to revitalize the Theatre District than the last four mayors of Buffalo combined.

    YES! Cambria's!
Anybody ever go to Meister's for their chicken in the basket? I guess it might still be there but when Mom and Pop passed away the kids uppgraded it and lost the flavor. My first visit there the chicken dinner was 85 cents.

And if you like Asian food--99's near Niagara Square was the absolute best. Just closed recently.

When I first moved here in the mid-70s, there was an old, low, rambling restaurant at the corner of Main and Bailey. There's a Burger King there now.

I can't remember the name of it. Usual old-time setup: saloon in front, dining room in back. Separate entrance to the dining room, so the ladies didn't have togo through the bar.

    Name anyone?

Anyone remember Randazzo's (sp?)? It was a great little place that I remember from when I was a wee one... Nickel wings! I used to be able to put away about a buck or so...

If you want to talk about a real ghost of WNY restaurants, let's talk about East Side Mario's! Who hasn't seen those old commercials; the airwaves were littered with them! I have never heard of a WNY East Side Mario's at all. Oooooh, spooky.

HEY BADA BOOM BADA BING(o) !!!

Randazzo's---home of the 5 cent chicken wing and 99 cent spaghetti dinner! Personally knew Tony Randazzo that founded and owned the place. One of the nicest men I have ever met!

Sargent's at the foot of Ferry--closed up when I was a kid but I had fish (from the lake) fries there.
    Is the Parkrige still going?
Has the Park Lane been mentioned? Peter Gust used to kiss women's hands.

The Park Lane has been reopened for quite a while now, albiet without Peter Gust.
    The path is clear
    Though no eyes can see
The course laid down long before.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,
Though many times they've seen the way to leave.
