Thumbs down Why I voted YES on the NYS Budget....

I recieved this in my E-Mail Today

Re: vote NO for the budget announced by Patterson, Silver and Smith.‏
    From: stachows@senate.state.ny.us

    Dear Friend,

I’d like to take a moment to offer my explanation for my “yes” vote on the
New York State Budget. All I ask it that you read through this email before
shaping a position on my actions.

The plain truth is that the $17.7 billion budget deficit we faced continues
to grow every day during this national recession—an economic downturn that
has 46 states facing budgetary deficits. If we didn’t pass a budget on
time, the hole would still be growing. Plus, as difficult as this situation
is, the rhetoric and political diatribes that are being offered in the
media only makes it worse. Please believe me when I tell you that we had to
adopt this budget if the state wanted to do the fundamental things a
government must: educate children, maintain roads and bridges, keep the
streets safe, and care for the sick and poor, for starters.

It was my feelilng that the best way to address this deficit-and
future ones-was with a straightforward approach: a combination of cuts,
reform of the state’s inherently unfair tax system, and a temporary income
    tax on wealthier taxpayers.

    The Cuts:

 In response to the seriousness of the situation, the Governor has
announced layoffs for 8,900 employess, nearly 5 percent of the total state
    workforce.
 The state’s reimbursements to our healthcare system will amount to
    $2.3 billion less statewide.
 Three prisons and nine juvenile detention facilities will be closed.
 Earlier this year state leaders cut $1.3 billion in spending for FY
    2008 and FY 2009.
 Reforms to the Medicaid system will save $1.6 billion this year
    alone.

    The Taxes:

 $4 billion will be raised by increasing the personal income taxes
paid by the wealthiest New Yorkers. 99.6% of the residents of the 58th
District will be unaffected by this measure.
 The “utility tax” will amount to approximately one dollar by hundred
dollars on your utility bill. Your telephone bill will remain unaffected.
 By voting in favor of this budget, I voted to remove a majority of
the taxes suggested by Governor Paterson, including those on pop, bowling,
salon services, digital downloads, and yes, the $10 fee to file a paper tax
    return.

    State Spending:

 The State Senate adopted an internal budget which reflects an 8.5
percent reduction in spending for the coming year.
 The spending plan is up 8.7 percent from this year, but is mainly
driven by $7 billion in federal stimulus money which by law must be spent
immediately and may not be used to fund rainy day reserves or retire debt.
 Additional spending ($1.5 billion) was also required due to the large
increase in Unemployment Insurance claims across the state.

    Sucesses:

 We were able to continue our successful and sorely-needed STAR tax
    deduction program.
 The State Legislature was successful in keeping aid to education
steady, without instituting drastic cuts which would have spurred an
    increase in local property taxes.
 We fought off an effort to increase the state’s sales tax, which
would have raised our local sales tax to 9 percent.

Finally, I’d like explain what a “no” vote would have meant.

My Republican colleagues, the print and electronic media, and others would
like you to think that a “no” vote would have led to a budget that had no
tax increases, no cuts in services, and no layoffs. This is simply untrue.

I realize that the last thing you want to hear are political half-truths
and excuses. But the fact remains that the Senate Minority was advancing a
plan that would have actually increased spending, not reduce it. They did
not introduce a detailed plan to pay for their suggestions and singled out
myself and a few others to make a case for their budget which pandered to
the fears of senior citizens, hard working middle class familiars and
business owners. In was irresponsible, political and derisive.

In closing, I can say with my head held high and truth in my heart that I
voted in favor of a budget that is far from perfect, was done with less
openness than I would have liked, and contains more taxes than any New
Yorker should be paying. I have no interest in anything other than
representing the 300,000 people of the 58th District to the best of my
ability and remembering them when making any decisions in Albany.

    Sincerely,

    WILLIAM T. STACHOWSKI
    STATE SENATOR
    58TH DISTRICT

    How stupid is he?

I mean the thing that pisses me off MOST about this budget beside all the little stupid taxes that will prob cost me an extra $400 or more, is this:

 The spending plan is up 8.7 percent from this year, but is mainly
driven by $7 billion in federal stimulus money which by law must be spent
immediately and may not be used to fund rainy day reserves or retire debt.

WHY ARE THEY USING THIS TO INCREASE SPENDING?? All this will do is allow them, i mean the 3 men, to justify raising taxes next year! The will start off with a 131 Billion budget and raise it from their.
ANY SMART PERSON would have taken that 7 BILLION and used it to pay for the programs we allready have like welfare and medicare/caid. This would have kept them from RAISING taxes and fees! THESE GUYS ARE TO DUMB!

    A Beautiful Spin Job

Today I received an Email from Mr. Starches

    Mr Stachowski states:
"In response to the seriousness of the situation, the Governor has
announced layoffs for 8,900 employees, nearly 5 percent of the total state
    workforce."

I will believe this only when I see 8,900 state workers laid off.
Will we have 8,900 newly created political jobs for these laid off state workers?
Why not we create new state jobs for the unemployed Democratic Politicians.
Russia didn't make me vote for Trump, Hillary did.

Every politician who voted for this budget needs to be "cut" from the public rolls in their next election. If we do not vote these people out of office when they do not listen to us then they will continue with business as usual. They sit around and laugh at how stupid and insignificant we have become. If they start losing their "jobs" as our Representatives, then they will start to listen to what we have to say.

Mr politician, please we are all tired of explanations full of spin. The utility tax is so unfair. Only the poorer will suffer from this. You say only a dollar for a hundred, well for you and me that is nothing but to those in need that is just enough for a shut off notice. Lastly every year the government gets tax increases automatically. Every time a person gets a raise so does the gov't for you will pay more tax on your raise. But this is not enough revenue for you parasites, so tax the poor more. Please retire.

The only way any of there people will retire is forced retirement. They will not do what we want until they realize that they will lose their job if they do not do what we want.

I got that BS from Stachowski, too, and I called him on it.

    Stachowski:
I've already READ this FORM letter because you sent it to me via snail mail. Thanks for using taxpayer dollars on that. Thank you for raising the salaries of your workers. That was a great decision that really helps improve our state economy. Spare me your BS rhetoric. I will do everything in my power to be sure you are thrown out of office come the next election. You have never done anything but represent yourself, you could care less about your constituents. If you can't even take the time to respond personally, don't bother. By the way, where is my STAR rebate? You are really quick to take the money out of my pocket, but not too quick putting any back. I am tired of the way this state is run, and I'm tired of incumbents such as yourself parading yourselves around trying to act like heroes when you're nothing more than a thief. I hope you have enjoyed your time pillaging the people of NY, because your day is about over. I'll stay in NY just long enough to make sure you are thrown out of office in disgrace, which is more than you deserve. -Jamie Rozek

(NOTICE OUR STATE SENATOR SPELLED WORDS WRONG, OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T USE SPELL CHECK)

    My Response:

Good. Why don't you give some of that campaign money back to the state to help close the budget instead of screwing your constituents? You don't get to just respond to the parts of my message you feel like. I'm a voter in your district and I demand a full explanation.

I have yet to receive a response to that e mail.

The most frustrating part is that these guys are completely arrogant about what they have and are not afraid of being defeated because it almost never happens unless they are caught stealing from the state of some other horrendous act.
