Angry Bad Tea Party, Bad Club!!!

After getting caught up at the bank, (withdrawing money to spend at Club W,) and a miserable drive down Delaware Avenue, I arrived at the supposed "Tea Party" at approximately 1:15 PM. There were no parking spots, so I was forced to pay $5.00 for parking, in a lot right next to Club W.

I entered the "club," only to find a handful of people. I sat down at the bar and waited 15 minutes before I was even acknowledged. The girl behind the bar finally says, "do you want a drink or something?" I've only been sitting there for fifteen minutes with a $20.00 bill sitting on the bar. I think it was pretty obvious that I "WANTED A DRINK OR SOMETHING"!!! I asked for a Pepsi with very little ice, and received a small glass, filled to the rim with ice and about four sips worth of cola.

I asked her if she was the only bartender working today and she said, "yeah," and went on to explain that Saturdays aren't usually too busy there, so they really don't need more than one bartender. Being a bit astonished that they'd only have one bartender for potential crowd of a couple hundred people, I said, "isn't the tea party supposed to be held here?" While rolling her eyes with a smirk on her face, she replied, "yeah, but they all marched down to City Hall." Her expression certainly didn't hide the fact that she thought the "Tea Party" attendees were nothing more than a bunch of dorks.

After about forty-five-minutes, no sign of the "tea baggers" returning and no further attention from the bartender, (after quickly consuming my four sip, $2.00 Pepsi,) I had enough and left. Typically, I'm a very generous tipper, but needless to say, I did NOT leave a tip. I'll even tip when I receive relatively poor service, but this was well beyond poor service.

Jim Ostrowski has been very vague regarding the details about this party, and never mentioned the event being moved to City Hall. Had I known they were going to meet at the bar and actually hold the event at City Hall, I would have made other plans. For those of you who aren't already aware, I have spinal injuries in my neck and back and on days, such as today, where the barometer is fluctuating, my pain level escalates to a level where all the pain killers in the world wouldn't be very effective, and a lot of walking and/or standing are pretty much out of the question.

If you haven't guessed by now, I am not very happy with, both, Jim Ostrowski and Club W!!! In my opinion, this "event" was very poorly planned and I will very likely NEVER attend another one, unless, of course, there is a very clear and concise itinerary for the event.

Sorry Surf, I mean how lame is it that they didn't even leave someone behind for stragglers?

Jim O should be strung by his tea bag

    I have to admit.
I thought it a bit strange to hold a tea party at a bar.
I think I remember him saying something about marching over to City Hall.
Surf showed up fashionably late and got left at the alter.

Next tea party is July 4th.
I have an itinerary for ya.
Since all the tea partys are scheduled to be by the river.
You can watch them with me on the boat.
I'll even give up the bow chair.
We'll stop at Cornettas for lobsta and clams.
Then go on down to the Big prune for the Macys fireworks.

Seriously Surf. ^5 for the attempt.

What? How? Did you read Surf's post? I didn't take away that he was elated, did you?. You got an answer for his deserted visit or are you just going to throw lame rebuttals?

You think or he did? Let's say he mentioned it, how many times? Once? Twice? or as part of the itinerary like it should have been?

How did he show up fashionably late when it was supposed to be at the bar and last longer then 30 minutes? I recall it was going to be a real party? Real party for who?

You want people to invest their time, devotion and energy to oops sorry YOU WERE LATE?

The 411 was I didn't get to meet Surfing

Other than that, I wasn't aware they were marching down to city hall either. Had I known that, I would have worn sneakers. I headed down to City Hall after the bar emptied out hoping Surfing would recognize me standing in front of the crowd. Looks like by the time I got back to the bar, ahead of the crowd, Surfing had already left.

I found steven there .. he saved me from the old men who were hitting on me at the bar. Thank you steven!

I didn't get any of JO's handouts .. perhaps I didnt see them if they were laid out somewhere.

It was hard to hear the what the speakers were saying inside the bar. I was sitting at the bar near the entrance and the sound system muffled their words.

Surfing was correct about the service at the bar. When I first arrived it took about 15 minutes to get a drink. Can't complain about the cost of that drink cause by then some guy with a ponytail bought it for me
The service got better later in the afternoon when steven, and later Res, joined me at the bar

I am sorry for the mixup.

I believe there were agendas handed out at Club W and staff who remained. Not sure why you didn't connect.

The agenda was also published at BuffaloLiberty.org. and the march to City Hall was mentioned on the site I linked to.

This was a complex event put on on short notice by volunteers with a zero budget.

Not every detail of the event was my idea (including leaving the venue BTW).

If there is another event, it will be outdoors in July.

My speech is online at http://politicalclassdismissed.com/?p=5929.

I am revising the PDF of the 12-point plan and will post it shortly. (The font is too small.) The plan is quoted within the speech.

Now that I delivered it once, I realize the speech is a bit dense so I am doing an audio version for the car, etc.

    defending bartenders

no tip for the bartender? surf: you got caught up at the bank. went to a rally that got moved without your knowing. the girl was serving drinks to alot of different people then her normal crowd by herself. any one tell you how busy she was before you got there? did she get good tips from the teabaggers? tippers aren't dorks in that line of work. if she rolled her eyes it probably was more then your thoughts of her. i went to ruby tuesdays. asked for light ice. got more ice then soda. i didn't not leave a tip because a party of 20 kids left 10 minutes before i got there.

What difference does it make how busy a bartender was before he arrived? No one was there when Surfing arrived. The barmaid was there and a patron was there. The crowd was gone. What excuse could she have for making a paying customer wait 15 minutes before acknowledging him and then ignore him for the next 45 minutes???
