NYS has sent notice to all school districts that their contributions to the teacher retirement system will increase from 5.63% to between 8.5% and 9.5% beginning in 2006.
The average pension for a teacher with 30 years experience and age 55 is 60% of their average salary for the high three years. The typical pension is $47,365.00.
Can't wait to get my next school tax bill in Oct.
