Town of Brant NYS Comptroller's Audit

Am I the only one who is appalled at the results of the NYS Comptroller's Audit which states that we have a police officer on our force who was and possibly is double and triple dipping????? Please check out the audit at http://www.osc.state.ny.us/localgov/ and let's get mad that this situation is continuing since that officer is still on our payroll and on our streets. Enough is enough!!! The Town Board was made aware of the situation with this officer more than 2 years ago and the majority of the Town Board protects him at every turn. The Town of Brant residents and taxpayers deserve better than this. We deserve the resignation of both this officer and the Town Board members who have been protecting him.

Sure do. Makes you sick to your stomach when your the one paying for this. This happens throughout all levels of "government" if that's what you want to call it.

Debra, why does a town of 1,900 spend 17.5% of its operating budget on police protection?

And out of those 1,900 residents, how many are actual taxpayers?

Why does the Town of Brant need a police force?

Don't the taxpayers already pay for Sheriffs patrols and State Police presence?

Another reason why small towns such as this should be merged with larger towns..................

Nothing against Brant, I have friends that reside there.
I never said I had no idea about most of the things you said I said I had no idea about.
