Because I wasn't happy when our assessment went up. Brought back memories

I just happen to have our Town of Cheektowaga Town Tax bill.

    Library Purpose $73.39

$6.11 per month. That doesn't bother me at all. Libraries are fine.

NYS Mandated Tax $687.36 Exactly what is that?

$57.28 per Month. Which mandates? How many town employees are needed to cover these mandates?

    General Town Tax $1,177.06

$98.08 per month. This covers what. Is this like senior center costs? parks? Road repairs?

    Highway Tax $123.60

    $10.03 per month. Plowing?

    General Light $96.36

$8.03 per month. Street lighting? Like those stupid solar lights the town tried?

    Drainage $32.24

$2.68 a month. So this is different than the water/sewer bill?

    Fire 9 bellevue $312.44

$26.03 per month. I know it's volunteer but what do these funds go towards? That really doesn't bother me too much but I would like to figure out how many households pay this. That is like 1/2 of the state mandate fee.

Erie co sew dstl x10 $60
Erie co sew dstl x10 $22.39
Erie co sew dstl x10 $60.62
Erie co sew dstl x10 $200

$28.58 a month. I thought I pay a separate water/sewer bill. What do we think these charges are?

    General Garbage $349.51

$29.12 per month to pickup the garbage. That does not really bother me too much. I will count how many homes are on my road to see what the revenue is.

That's how they're disguising the MEDICAID tax.

Hmmmm. Looks like Truthdetector is either getting screwed in his assessment, is a "rich bitch," or both.

Rez, you CheektoWarsawans are getting ripped off. In Lancaster, the town contracts out the refuse and we're all paying $153.44 this year on our tax bills. You pay 56% more, probably due to having to pay for the sanitation workers pension expense.

REz - Your garbage bill is comparable with mine. Garbage collection is not provided by my Town. I have a private contract with Modern Disposal.

I guess Modern's prices have increased since I left Clarence. In 1999, I was paying them $51.84 per quarter.

What is the point of not having the service contracted out? I would rather save money and worry about my own pension.

I'm guessing the $261.53 is to pay off the bond, and the $68.80 is for the operating and maint. expense.
I never said I had no idea about most of the things you said I said I had no idea about.
