Thank The Nutless Liberals for this

I want every one who Is a man to go out and find a Free Cheeser or a Union clown and thank the dress wearing sissiys for this honor. I am so proud to live among you clowns that all i can say is you suck and you deserve what you get. NY the ball less state.

Give Me Liberty or Give Me New York State?Political Scientists at the University at Buffalo and Texas State University have declared New York to be the state with the least individual freedom in America.

Jason Sorens, Fait Muedini and William P. Ruger published their findings in "Freedom in the 50 States: An Index of Personal and Economic Freedom" through Mercatus Center at George Mason University.

Their research named New Hampshire, Colorado and South Dakota the states with the most individual freedom in the country, combining scores for personal and economic freedom. The top states had low taxes and government spending along with moderate levels of regulation and "paternalism."

Alaska was named the state with the most personal freedom.

After New York, the least free states were found to be New Jersey, Rhode Island, California and Maryland.

States were evaluated against the following criteria, according to the researchers' data:

Most Personal Freedom: "decriminalizing marijuana, having fewer gun controls, having fewer regulations on home and private schools, permitting same-sex civil unions, abolishing "blue laws" on alcohol sales and having less restrictive rules on smoking on private property," etc.

Most Economic Freedom: "low taxes and government spending as a percentage of the economy, low prevalence of occupational licensing, strict rules preventing eminent domain abuse and few regulations on health insurance and labor contracts," etc.

    Thanks, Cgood.
No wonder NYS has to make so many budget cuts!
No wonder NYS isn't business friendly!
No wonder we have one of the most CORRUPT state governments!

Wonder what Patterson would say about this study?

Do the states with the most personal and economic freedom ALSO rank among those states with the HAPPIEST, HEALTHIEST citizens with a much lower rate of crime than the other states?
Be interesting to do a quick cross-sectional check comparing free and restrictive states.

Surprised that California is so anal retentive but then again,
look who is governah of cauliflower! Ahnold! A gut Austrian who knows discipline!!

Notice also that there tends to be an inverse correlation between population density and level of Freedom.

I think that's a big indicator, the more densely packed your people are, the more personal/economic freedoms shrink, it could be argued out of necessity.

So, all the rugged conservatives planning to go scout out an acre in Alaska?

Emmy there are better places to be then here. The problem Is due to work I am stuck here for a while. This State could be such a wonderfull place but the politicians have screwed it up. And we have the unicks AKA voters of the Empire State to thank for it. Pennsylvania you want to buy a hand gun you go to the Court house and 48 hours later no felonys you have a permit to carry concealed. NY you fill out papers wait and go in front of some homo Judge and he decides weather you carry or not. I am telling you if there ever is a Nuke attack I hope NY is the 10 ring.

A job? You're staying here because of a job? If other places are so much better, I'm sure you could quickly find another, better paying job. Yes?

But then you'd have to find something different to bitch about. That would take some effort, wouldn't it.
