This "is" how our government is supporting(??) our troops? Did exposing this kind of action on national tv hurt or correct this hypocrisy? NOT IN THE LEAST!!

Let's keep protecting "big oil", the filthy f******* rich, & companies like Halliburton.....mr. Bush\mr Cheney !

Make DAMN SURE that "they" get their "big cuts" of the big pie ......FIRST !!

Maybe a few hundred bucks spent on body armor isn’t much to Secretary Rumsfeld, who makes about $175,700. But a few hundred dollars is a big deal to Richard Murphy. Last year his salary as a Specialist (E-4) was about $20,000.

Tired of waiting for the Pentagon to launch an authorized program to reimburse troops who buy their own personal protective gear for combat deployments, the chief congressional sponsor of the program wants to wrest control of it from defense officials.
Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., attached a provision to last year’s defense authorization bill authorizing — but not requiring — the Defense Department to reimburse troops up to $1,100 for the expense of body armor and other protective gear and health and safety equipment not provided by the military.

The Pentagon .....HAS NEVER PAID A DIME.

“The administration is either showing complete incompetence or utter indifference,” he said. “It feels as if I am getting a rope-a-dope with them, hoping I would go away.”

“How many of those killed could have been saved with the proper equipment?” Cline said.

$500,000 grant from federal funding pays for custom paint job on company's passenger jet

The money came out of about $29 million in federal funding U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska and his congressional colleagues have appropriated to the marketing board, created in 2003, to promote and enhance the value of Alaska seafood.
The senator's son, state Sen. Ben Stevens, is chairman of the agency's board of directors.

U.S. Senator Ted Stevens gave his son the CEO position of SPECIAL OLYMPICS when the Olympics were held in Anchorage.

Only after the fact, did volunteers, parents, donors learn that Little Ben had made $710,000.00 for being the CEO.

This involved going to a couple of events and a few banquets.

The military here in Alaska was recruited probably by dad, U.S. Senator Ted Stevens to do all the work. Volunteers gave up pay to help in the Olympics, they were really mad after learning Little Ben had been paid this astronomical figure.
