Well water..
In these days of property tax hikes, high gasoline prices and an uncertain economic future, should the Town of Holland put another financial burdun on its taxpayers for the next 20+ years just to supply water to the Town when they could drill another water well in the town and save the taxpayers MILLIONS OF DOLLARS? What do you think?

Yes, well water. The town's water well is 70 years old and they got a bid to have the old well cleaned out and to hook up the new water well to the existing 70 year old water well. If they went with Erie County water, the cost to the taxpayers would range from 600-800 all the way up to $2,500 per household just to pay for the construction project. The taxpayers would be paying this bill for the next 20 to 30 years. This is not including the quarterly water bills that the homeowners would have to pay. Then, to get this project through, some people have been told that even though they already have water from their own private water well, if they hook up to Erie County water, the VALUE of their house will almost DOUBLE!!! Now , that does not make any sense at all. It the person already has water from their own private water well, How is getting public water going to increase the value of their property? If it did, then the assessment would double. and then the taxes would double.
