Will Terry come back to Lancaster - its alot easier being a big fish in a small pond!

Don't feel to bad for Mr.McCracken - he still has his $80,000.00 a year tax funded Lancaster Recreation position. He and his wife still hold multiple appointed positions - so no matter what happens - he'll come back to Lancaster and support the Dem Committee.

Two ways this might end - They will most likely offer Chairman Jeremy Zellner and Mr.Moore some "alternative" patronage position or Steve Pigeon & Frank Max will cut a deal and let Mr.McCracken swing! ? !

Even with Leg.Member McCrackens recent "Political Family Alliance" it might not be enough to trump the "Pigeon/Max" loyalists. We can only hope !

McCracken Draws Democrat Primary Financial Advisor Wes Moore Says 'People Deserve Better' By Michael Caputo

Erie County Legislator Terry McCracken drew a Democrat primary opponent today as Lancaster financial advisor Wes Moore threw his hat in the ring. The surprise development opened yet another front in a factional war troubling the Erie County Democrat Committee.

In a noon press release, Moore, a Lancaster resident, took a swipe at McCracken without using his name. "We have no representation, we have a legislator who is tethered to his other high paying public sector job and can't deliver basic representation for his district."

"His continued absence speaks volumes. I deserve better. My neighbors deserve better," Moore said. "The people of the 8th district deserve better."

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Parks Boss/Party Chairman McCracken ran for County Leg - he used his tax payers funded job in Lancaster as a "Spring Board" to campaign.

He now collects two tax funded paychecks - one from the Town of Lancaster's home owners and another funded by County taxes. Over $100,000.00 dollars a year plus benefits and a vehicle.

[I]Double dipping on the taxpayers dime is wrong - but profitable - just ask Lancaster Town Board Member D.Stempniak - she retired - was reinstated and now collects a pension and Town Councilman pay. SLICK !

Yes correct and it's funny the rash of lancaster Dems. wanting to north because of the Monies. and non-residencey policy as required in Lancaster! The pay was a large jump to est. $90,000. plus. Put I don't see Terry hurting to long the good old boy's and girl club taking care of him!!!

Between Mr.McCracken or Mr. Moore which would be easier to beat in the general election?

That is the candidate we should push for.

The four Dems reappointed him after he was elected to the Erie legislature. Now, he's going to
another town job hunting. Will the Dem council members show him the same loyalty at next
    year's organization meeting?

The question is, is Terry the power man in Lancaster? Maybe Terry will get payback for the lost of the Superivsor job to Dino and there is little loyalty in the Democratic party at this time. Tonawanda is looking for someone that is a worker- sorry Terry your not it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't Dave Marrano in Tonawanda? If so, I have to believe he did not give Terry a good reference!

Change is coming - whether they want it or not - tax payers cant take any more !

If Mr.McCracken does face a "Primary" - he will win only because of Lancaster. His LAN Dem Committee pals and tax funded school chums will line up for him - why - because they believe they have to.

While many Town workers will "Privately" tell you their sick of politics controlling their employment - they fear the implied reality. For too long the patronage game has been accepted - the same people ruled by it are the ones who now have a chance to change it. A simple private vote - who knows how you vote ?

The "Party Players" know - on a local level - this years elections are a possible major turning point. Not because those bad Repubs could gain control - but because future patronage control could be hindered.

Some long time LAN Dem Members seeking outside employment is evidence of that uncertainty. Members who have enough "time in service" are packing their retirement funds - why ? Some are seeking other means of "support" - why ?

The obvious reason is - Lancaster's getting to hot - to open - they can't hide any more. Development is slowing - the money and deals are drying up. The costs of benefits for these "Patronage" people are now out in the open. They are starting to bail out - they will play the Councilman Stempniak game and capture their retirement pay and move on.

We can only hope that our Town Employees will try to stand on their own - that they will finally understand their jobs are earned - not given by Party Bosses - they don't owe anything to the "Party." - Their employment is a result of "services" needed and provided. No one "Party" is going to target them for being good workers.

Time will tell - County Leg McCracken was elected by default - he acquired his Lancaster positions because of his family party involvements - will that sustain him - probably not!

Itch, good point. Marrano does work in the Tonawanda's which has no residency requirement. It is interesting though that Mr. Terrance McCracken applied for a position in the same town. Why would that be, TM has been the party boss for a long time, this gives the appearance of "lack of support" towards TM from the Dems. That must be disappointing because TM has lead the party for so long. Fair weather friends I suppose.

Wes Moore taking the forefront in the Primary is very interesting as well. He does pose good points, I believe when you commit yourself politically to the people, you should committ to that job 100%. How does someone give that full committment when they are the Parks Boss & a Legislature?

This also gives the impression that the Democratic Party might be fragile and that the Republican Party might be strengthening.

    Time will tell.,....

    Connect the Dots

In the Buffalo News today, in the Region section
page D2--titled "How legislators voted on the anti-SAFE Act bill"

Check the column "Those who voted against the resolution were:"
Note the name Lynn M. Marinelli, D-Town of Tonawanda

My question being posed, is this Democrat/Legislator any
relation to Jill Marinelli who was just appointed to the ZBA of Lancaster
    recently past Tuesday night?

Another question, if this is so...note the town in which the person L. M. Marinelli
Town of Tonawanda--is that the same town that Terry McCracken applied for
    a position??

Is this a quid pro quo? ha ha ha ha

The individual who was appointed to the ZBA was a Jill Monacelli. She was an aide for Lynn Marinelli. Or are you implying her maiden name is Marinelli?

    Tax fund party building

Folks - The more you look the more you find. Patronage, nepotism is a way of life for some of these families. Some of us have been trying to bring this fact out for years.

Its what they believe comes with "Public Service" - its their entitlement. Lancaster has been a well kept secret for over 80 years+/-. Is it different in other Towns and cities - probably not. Is it limited to any one "Party" - probably not.

This is just what they built while pretending they were "Doing it for the Community" - how much longer can home owning taxpayers afford to carry these "Party Players" ?
