I hope he didn't use his town phone, otherwise some people will do an investigative report about why he was calling a federal elected official on town time.Council Member Steven Sanders, liaison to the town's Recycling and Waste Committee and the Engineering Department, said he's hoping the town will secure federal grants for plant upgrades.
He arranged a tour of the plant with Sen. Charles E. Schumer's staff last week and arranged a similar tour with Sen. Kirsten E. Gillibrand's staff for next week.
"Any money that we get is that much less money that we have to bond to pay for these necessary improvements," he said.

this did not happen overnight. these problems have been ongoing for some months or years and he never brought it to the surface. now we are supposed to be excited that he asked for help from the federal government through teh senators. there are engineers and board members and supervisors who should be relieved of their positions for making it this far with an obvious environmental issue.
Let's don't act like this story is new. Hell, this thread goes back 7 years. BO has been in office 4 years & he finally heard about a bridge In need of repair. Affirmative action comes to the White House and America is paying a terrible price.
