Seems Clarence is doing a efficient job

Clarence aims to cut tax rate, supervisor says

Clarencewill aim toreduce its tax rate againin its 2014 budget, while also making quality-of-life improvements this year, Town Supervisor David C. Hartzell Jr. said today.

They may reduce the actual budget giving a "real savings" to the people who live in that community. That means more money for your family.

I see they are creating an outdoor ice rink...kids needs is a shovel and a pair of skates...that is pretty cool. Do they already have an indoor ice rink ran by town employees?

No indoor ice rink. I also like this from the article-
Callahan said the town favors a “balanced growth” approach: “We want to grow residentially, but not at a rate that’s going to outpace the provision of services. And that growth should be planned. It shouldn’t be haphazard growth.”

In today's Buffalo News, there is an article in which it states that the Clarence Community Recreation Corps
may seek private funding to construct the ice rink at Eastern Hills Mall. They are no longer asking the town taxpayers
to borrow the money to fund the construction.

The school district taxes most likely will rise unlike the town.

Ask them to revist the budget after they fund their own police department. Clarence is abusing the system.

So Clarence uses County and State tax breaks to lure businesses away from other WNY communities, then brag about their own taxes going down for their residents?

Think about what you just said.

They are able to lure businesses with tax breaks AND STILL lower some property taxes for their residents. I don't like IDA's but they are still able to lower what it cost to live in Clarence.

How so? They are lowering their spending budget which then lowers the tax rate, right?

When a town IDA like Clarence hands out tax incentives, they can give out State tax cuts and County tax cuts, in addition to town dollars. (Without any approvals needed from the state) So they brag about their own finances, yet they have NYS and EC residents footing part of the bill to lure businesses to their town.
