    LCD and Plasma TV's

I want a new TV.. I have a Sony Wega 40" glass tube 300 pound monster that I just don't want to move. It's on the second floor and would be tough to move back downstairs where I should have left it.

I went to circut city and best buy. I can't believe how many different types of TV's there are now.

The room I will put it in is about 15 feet by 14 feet

What size do you all think would be cool?

    I looked at this 58"er

    Panasonic - 58" 1080p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV

    This one 58"er

    Samsung - 58" 1080p Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV

    And some 42" to 52"..

Anyone buy anything lately that they are very happy with?

Don't be jealous. Just go work or something to make some money and go buy one. I'm serious.. I'm just some smuck no different than anyone else here. If I can do it anyone can.

We have the Panasonic. AWESOME picture. True to life colors, crisp pictures.
Make sure you use the hdmi connections. Even non-HD pictures look about 500% better!

I got side tracked about our furnace when it broke. Had a new high efficiency one put in. Will get something 48" - 50"ish.... Size of the room and all.

Furnace was more important than the TV I'll get something late Jan or so.

One issue though.. there are JUST so many.

For the money visio is the best deal. Samsung is korean crap. Philips makes good stuff. They have a ambient experience line that is really cool.

I believe he was implying that you'll get a great deal just before the Super Bowl.

Is this how you buy a TV because it will look cool. Have you've done any research on the TV itself like Plasmas TV are not the best TV to buy. Questions you might want to ask yourself are

    1. how much TV do I really need.

    2. Will the TV take up too much room space.

    3. Does the TV run at 120 megahertz or above

    4. Does it have full HD or half HD.

    5. How many 1080 series does the TV have on the market.

    6. Is the TV a Energy Saver product, and how much power will it need to pull.

    7. What is its life expectancy 2, 3, 4, 5, years.

    8. Is the price what I want to pay.

    9. How many stores have I compared shopping at.

    10. Will the TV carry all my other components like DVD, Game systems etc..or will it have limited ports.

You do realize Circuit city has filed for bankruptcy, why buy from a store that will be closing within a year ?

Sears is too high, good product but too high in price they are trying to make a killing.

Target, well that's a shot in the dark like Wal-mart.

Best buy, poor product in my book, example my brother bought to new TV within 8 months best buy TV went dead; lol made in china.

Pick up a consumer report magazine on the new TVs coming out in 09 because many will be your newer Dp TV's with higher pixel resolutions.
