while other cities across this country are scraping to get by, Bflo boasts a 76 million dollar surplus. Not concerned with a probable 18 million dollar cut in State aid for next yr.
that means they dont owe any debt right. and they dont need state money. It's a joke to claim a surplus when you still have loans to pay off. how can they claim a surplus when they borrow money each year and receive state funds. If they truly have surplus then they should give back they money they collected or pay debt off
One good thing about growing old is your secrets are safe with your friends they can't remember them either
After they honor their contracts, give the rest back.
It's not the city tax rate that needs cutting - it's the freakin' county tax - and - it's going up this year. City property taxes are being held as is for next year.

First, the money from the state is what Buffalo pays to the state. Everyone pays into the state, and the state decides what to pay back.
Second, City taxes have been reduced 10% since Brown took office.
Take the surplus and "magically" turn the East, West and South sides of Buffalo into areas that we can TRULY "talk proud" about.
Seriously.
Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys.

the amount of money Albany sends Bflo will be frozen at last yrs level. No cut in aid. That is good news for the City. I know there are many that want the City to somehow fail, but it isn't going to happen in the near future. Financially speaking, even in these times, the City is doing fine, much better off than so many others. Not many others reporting to have a hundred million dollar fund balance.
