Of course you would. But most others WNYers are not. Thats why they are moving away. What don't you get through your head. Your area sucks big time. People are fed up with all of the Buffalo Backers and people who have ruined the area.

The last laughs on you all though cause you will all have to pay these high taxes. The smart people have left or are leaving. We will leave the area to all you liberals who love to pay taxes for medicaid sex offenders to be able to recieve Viagra.

WNY sucks big time. Its made national news. I guess you people left there are the last to know. But now you know. Your area sucks!

I really thought the purpose of this website and forum was to unite and try to encourage people to speak out against the political corruption in WNY. I believe that Mrsunsine is from Ohio (forgive me if I'm mistaken).I'm 33 years old, have all my family here and love this area. I have been to Ohio, at least a good portion of it ,and it is nothing to write home about either. My friend lived in Cleveland for three years and he left the first chance he got. We went to a couple local stores where there is actually pay meters in the parking lots. Imagine feeding a parking meter to go to Wal-Mart. The list goes on but I am not going to get into it. I don't live there and choos not to. But I also would neer condemn those that do. My point is, Buffalo isn't trying to recruit you. The Buffalo backers like myself and my family(one of whom told me about this site) are trying to change what is wrong with a great area.

I'm glad people like Mr. Sunshine have left Buffalo. The extreme righties like him are just as bad as the liberal elite I have to deal with here on Long Island every day. They both think they are better than everyone else and want everyone to think just like them. I like Buffalo because most people are in the sensible center. People there have a realistic view of the world and know that the destruction of our national economy and taxes on the middle class are the real issues facing our country, not constant arguing over social issues.

All I can say is that Ohio is not that much better off economically than Western New York. Columbus is small potatoes in the national scheme of things and certainly nothing to brag about. Mr. Sunshine, can't you just forget about Buffalo and leave the good citizens of Western New York alone, or is your newfound boring midwestern life leave you nothing else to do but attack Buffalo?

Can't say that I am pleased with my position here in WNY. I am still out of work and I have had only one interview over the past 3 1/2 months. IT and accounting background, 20+ years experience and no opportunities.

Wife has a good job and family is here, some older and have health issues.

I like the area and quality of life but the county and state are making it more difficult to improve upon it with overtaxing, fees, arrogant politicians, small town mentalities and the like. At the moment, I just don't hold out much hope for the area.

Quite frankly, if (and when) the family situation changes, my wife and I will most likely going to leave the area.

I was very lucky to have landed a great job with a great small local company in Amherst. The pay isn't great, but the people are wonderful. It's my wife may not be able to find a job here, though.

I love living in Elma, as the taxes are low, the area is quiet, and the homes and people have no equal. Property values are great too...

    Yes, Yes, and Yes.

I'm far from being a liberal as anyone who's read my posts would know. I'm also not an extreme rightie, although I'm not really sure what an extreme rightie is.

I believe strongly that all government spending needs to be cut significantly, not just in dribbles. To me that means consolidating school districts, merging municipalities, and introducing competition into service provisioning so we can get the most value at the least possible cost.

So Mr Sunshine, we're not all idiots here and we're not all planning to leave. But if you're worried, if I'm the last one left, I'll be sure to turn out the lights.

    Hurray!!!

Im moving on and away from this mess!
    Please take me with you!

If you take someone with you does that mean we'll get more libraries closed? If, so...

Thats a shame. It's so hard for the hospitals around here to recruit any of the in-demand specialties.

I, too have been toying around with leaving in a few years. I doubt that my wife will find employment here because of the continued decline of Kaleida as well as the incompetence of the management at Roswell. I certainly hope that my children have the 'nads to leave the area if we do stay. This is no place to be raising kids.

I have found that many other hospitals in other states can provide better care for the patients and the salaries are about 25% higher with a lower cost of living in the cities.

Its a no brainer for me!

    Okay Brian....enjoy your trip.

BTW...you've got a ways to go to beat your personal record of 48 posts in one 24 hour period.

I was trying to feel around for that too...

What gives it away is the awful spelling, the fact that it the posts were made at 2:00 in the afternoon (work hours), and the fact that a doctor - especially a cardiologist - would not have the time to be posting at all.

Admin- can you verify? I see you have IP logging turned on.

I don't need to count your posts...I click this icon (go ahead, click it, it's fun) that is included beneath all your posts and it provides that info for me.
