Are those full time positions with benefits????
I can see the part time status being abused here.
Heres an idea! 1 year free property tax for any company w/25% increase in payroll.
So if a company goes from 1000 employees to 1250 they are exempt from property tax for that year.....its a great marketing bonus (since few companies in Buffalo grow that fast)
or
if a company increases the size of its corporate offices, retail space or manufacturing space by 25%, they get 1 year exemption of property taxes .... its a great marketing bonus (since few companies expand that fast)
Either way, whether they grow through people or grow their capacity...WE SHOULD BE OFFERING THESE MARKETING BENCHMARKS FOR OUR REGION.
LASTLY, THE BEST THING ABOUT PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS ARE THAT WE DONT GIVE THEM THE MONEY UNTIL AFTER THEY REACH THEIR BENCHMARK & ACHIEVE THEIR RESULTS. THE CURRENT SYSTEM FAILS BECAUSE IT GIVES THEM THE MONEY BEFORE THEY ACHIEVE THEIR RESULTS...AND IF THEY FAIL TO ACHIEVE THE RESULTS....THE MONEY IS GONE.

Thank you New York, may I please have another!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LETS COMPROMISE.....
MAKE THEM ADD UP ALL THE HOURS OF PART TIME & FULL TIME EMPLOYEES, DIVIDE BY 40, AND LET THOSE BE THE NUMBER OF INCREASES IN FULL TIME POSITIONS
THIS WAY A COMPANY ISNT HANDICAPPED BY FULL TIME OR PART TIME LIMITATIONS....JUST EXPANSION AND JOB GROWTH
(ESPECIALLY SINCE A GROWING COMPANY WILL CONVERT THOSE PART TIMERS TO FULL TIMERS SINCE THEIR TRAINED)
Great! Ill give myself a raise! and get free of property taxes for a year!
Heres a better idea...
Lets allow people to actually own their property instead!
