Did you guys read Jims article about the pepsi center.? It's below. THink if you walked into your bosses office and your report was what this Brian Burke did. You think they would have a general ledger and expense account. Perhaps it's time to call in the residents to go over all the numbers.

Monday July 14, a huge snow job was dumped on the Amherst Town Board at their afternoon work session. Brain Burke, manager of the Pepsi Center run by Sport Services, gave his first report in years concerning that facility. He purported to explain how the Amherst Center is doing financially, yet no money figures were mentioned.
He showed the menu of the restaurants and cited other useless information about the Pepsi Center. His report appeared to have been put together 5 minutes before the presentation to the Board. The report included no money facts. He bluffed his way through this entire bogus report with the assistance of Councilman McGuire and Supervisor Grelick. Each time one of the other Council members brought up a valid concern, such as the Pepsi Center using Town employees, to the tune of $600,000 a year, that Council member was attacked by McGuire, Grelick, and/or Woodward.
Supervisor Grelick's defense of the management of the Pepsi Center was as tough as any business person. Interestingly, in the past she has openly attacked Councilmembers, as well as citizens, who expressed the opinion that we should treat Amherst more like a business.
Grelick has clearly stated that the government of Amherst is here to serve the people. It might be different if they want to get involved with using her "money maker", the Pepsi Center, which in reality has lost big money since day one. She claims that when tournaments come to our area we make millions. WRONG! Our Supervisor's lack of business sense, combined with Brain Burke's lack of promoting our area, help people from other parts of the world believe Amherst has nothing to offer them. They head to the place they have heard about all their lives, Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls, and the restaurants in the Falls do well, but not us.

At this same meeting the idea was expressed that the Town should try to get a place like Tim's Horton's to lease space in our Pepsi Center. The suggestion was put forth about 6 months ago by Shelly Schratz to Mr. Burke who buried it under a pile of, "no way". His idea was to have a third fitness center where his profits could be greater if the town gave him money to hire some real trainers. So, with the Supervisor in his corner, Monday afternoon he introduced the idea of a third fitness center.
Supervisor Grelick's business sense is, scramble. Nearly all of Ms. Grelick's "money making" ideas have cost the taxpayers money in the end. When a fitness center failed twice before it was because there was a lack of interest of people to join. Whoever is filling our Supervisor's mind with these hair brained schemes better be careful.
Even Sleepy Beauty eventually woke up.
