I am amazed this thread didn't as much attention from the start.

This is what I find interesting..

    Parks Equipment $500,000.00
    Parks Roadways $200,000.00
    Improvements to Various Parks $250,000.00
Parks Building Construction & Rehabilitation $250,000.00
Tow Path Park - Phase II $526,000.00

$1,726,000.00 for 5 park related projects.

Two more projects (not listed in the bond-funded projects) appeared in a different list of "pay as you go" projects include:

Various Parks Buildings & Roads $300,000.00
Parks Master Plan - Phase II $2,900,000.00

Between the two entities from the Erie County Capital budget of 2004, $4,926,000.00 went for just 7 "projects" related to the parks.

To me, it seems a bit excessive for just 14 County Parks.

Buffalo Zoological Gardens-South American Rainforest Exhibit $2,000,000.00

Was a South African Rainforest Exhibit so important to the County that 2 million dollars were bonded for it?

Rehabilitation of Ralph Wilson Stadium $2,500,000.00

You mean Ralph Wilson couldn't cough-up $2.5 million to rehabilitate a stadium with his name on it?

    PC Replacement $3,000,000.00

I really hope it's $3 million for replacing computers throughout the entire County. And not just a select few.

    Central Library Escalator Replacement $1,600,000.00
Central Library Interior Renovations -Phase II $1,205,000.00
Library Books & Media Equipment $4,500,000.00

They could have skipped the million dollar renovation project and bonded less that could have went into all of the County Branches.
