    What's happening w/ the 'old' Simme's?

I notice alot of activity in the former Simmes on Aurora.....hopefully it will reopen as something not as pricey as a 'martini bar'....I'm always anxious to patronize local, non-chain businesses!

me too. I want something with good food that I"m not embarassed to take out of town guests to. So when they come back they can say "Hey, let's go to such-and-such-a place."

I noticed the lights on in there the other evening. Hopefully they'll turn it into something nice as it's right around the corner from me.

There are, but some go downhill eventually. Danny's is a good example of that. They used to have good food, now they are mediocre at best.
Also, I'd like to see a place that has a better balance between bar and restaurant. The good local places have more bar than restaurant.

I was thinking the same thing, Res.

Not only that, I used to go to Simme's and at best it was mediocre and was not someplace I would take guests to eat out and brag about.

That's what I was talking about.

A Kennedy's Cove-esque place would be fine by me. They have good food at reasonable prices.

Kennedy's Cove is owned by STEAKS-R-US, INC. (David Janicki).

It appears as though David Janicki is, indeed, the entity that purchased 99 Aurora Street from Alden State Bank on 11/07/2008.

That being said, if Kennedy's Cove is any good, I'd imagine this restaurant will be just as good.

    support local business

I know Dave. He runs a good show! He is also A Lancaster resident. I use to live accross from Simmes when it was the Villiage Pub. Most of the nieghbors hated the place being there. I always said it could be a Walgreens or some other
national out of town operation. Support local whenever you can.
