Last night several members of the CARS coalition and members of the Citizens for a Better Lancaster coalition attended the Lancaster Planning Board meeting. We attended the meeting to primarily listen to the scheduled informal presentation of Pasquale Cipolla (Bella Vista) re the NEC Transit William site.

Mr. Cipolla's presentation did not concern the Transit William site, but a vague, conceptual stage appeal to the Planning Board and Town Board members present to have then commit to their approving a rezone before his concern spends $300,000 to perform the mitigative work to satisfy environmental and traffic concerns on property he owns adjacent to his office site.

Often times in the past developers have placed the cart before the horse in their development process, and the town's have supported their activities. This is the first time many of us have witnessed the petition for rezone approval without SEQR consideration in public.
