Thumbs up Decision making isn't easy

It's easy to blame somebody for not making a good decision. It sounds simple on a personal lever and becomes harder on a government or corporate level. How are you at decision making?

    Thumbs up

and that's what I expected. I took the question form a managment book. The answer was, "I can't decide."

then, there is a whole chapter on Decision Making Process.

    Bingo goes for you!!

Anyone else (I have more prices)?

Suppose you have a talented employee who consistently arrives late.
What would you tell this employee?:

"I would fire them, we dont tolerate lateness here"

"I'd give them a verbal warning, then a written warning, then fire them."

"I would lock the door to their office and tell them if they are 2 seconds late, you can't come in."

"I'd say it's fine, as long as they stay late and get their work done, it doesnt matter what time they come in."

But when told that an employee was consistently showing up late for work, the best managers in the industry asked this one question that summed up their attitude towards employee relationships: "I would ask why?"

Decision making has nothing at all to do with your own personal agenda. It has everything to do with understanding your employees perspective.

To answer your question, Zanna, I am trained to make decisions based on my co-workers abilties. Not their disabilities. Depending upon their individual situation, you need to decide how they can contribute to the organization. Possesing the authority to blame someone else for making a bad decision requires you to absorb their shortcomings. If you are unable to make a decision, it is because you do not know your employees limitations.

    Decision Making

I use some sage advice an old friend gave me a long time ago. It may sound odd when you first read it, but think about it - makes a great deal of sense once you digest it's true message:

Always wait 24 hours before committing suicide.

    Thumbs up Obama's decisions

Do you think Obama makes his own decisions on picking his cabinet?

Read somewhere that men are more indecisive than women.
Maybe its some kind of psychobabble BS or some kind of stereotype.

I wouldn't call myself a "decider," as I think only in terms of "black or white";The extremes of conscious chatter
Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys.
