On this day in 1886 the tuxedo dinner jacket made its debut in Tuxedo Park, NY. Yes, it is named after the village, not the other way around.
Tuxedo NY is a small, high end gated community on the Rockland/Orange County border.
A perfect place for a Tuxedo.

On this day in 1962 JFK announced a naval blockade of Cuba due to the presence of Soviet missiles.
I remember that day well. A lot of folks were mighty nervous.

The U.S. Army fought Mexican Carrancistas and their German advisors in the only battle of World War I fought on American soil. I'll bet you didn't know there was a battle in WWI in AZ.
