And even also on this day in 1939 the Wizard of Oz premiered in Hollywood.

And finally on this day in 1969 Woodstock opened at a dairy farm in upstate NY.

On this day in 1968 communist inspired and supported war protesters clashed with police in the streets of Chicago while the Democratic National Convention nominated Hubert H. Humphrey for president.
The MFM portrayed this as a police orgy gone wild.
They were completely hoodwinked by the radicals who used the same tactics that the communist inspired and Democrat supported OWS *******s plan to use in Tampa.

Good Morning. Today is Wednesday, August 29, 2012.
On this day in 1786 Shay’s rebellion began in MA. Following the Revolutionary war European merchants started demanding all payments for good be made in hard currency (gold and silver).
In addition, the State of MA demanded tax payments in gold and silver.
The farmers in Central and Western MA often dealt in barter since there was no hard currency.
When the farmers could not pay their taxes in gold or silver their farms and homes were confiscated by the government through the courts.
Add on top of that that most of them were owed back pay from the war which they had been unable to collect and you get a lot of discontent.
This rebellion was the one that caused Thomas Jefferson’s remark regarding the Tree of Liberty and its need for watering.

On this day in 1901 William McKinley died from gun shot wounds.
He had been shot several days earlier by what liberal historians describe as an anarchist Leon Czolgosz.
The Doctors thought that a button had deflected the bullet but a second bullet had interred his stomach and caused gangrene.

What were called “anarchists” in those days were pretty much the same as what we call them now in the OWS crowd.
They were trouble-making Communists.

On this day in 1920 the infamous 8 Chicago White Sox players were indicted for fixing the 1919 World Series.
They were acquitted of all charges, however, they were still banned from baseball for life.
