Absolutely yes. Just a couple of things left to do, just in case - make sure all the house is in order to alleviate my son from having to go through a bunch of old papers, make sure all surfaces are painted to make for an easy sale, otherwise will is in order and so am I.

As Doris Troy said "I never said I was afraid of dying."

Being afraid and being prepared are two way different things. I am not afraid of dying, but at 26 there's no way i'm prepared!

People with absolute faith in their religion (like Mesue, perhaps)
People who have had near death experiences
People who have a terminal illness and just want the interminable suffering to end
A handful of truly brave people who have no problem facing the unknown
Suicides whose overwhelming, crushing sense of blackness and hopelessness who just want to cease existing with no care as to "what comes after" their self-inflicted deaths
Elderly people who are just "tired" and want to rest (morbid)
    Otherwise-
    People who are liars
    or
    People who are dunces
boast that they do not fear death.

Death scares the S out of me simply because it is a total unknown; No clue as what to expect and I've chucked any and all religious concepts out the window and the utter feeling of helplessness (goes with death being an "unknown") is too much to think of;This is an admission of a normal, deep-seated fear;Almost phobic in nature; Not saying that I am a "girly man" or "wimpy baby man."

One thing I've heard on 'Coast To Coast' when people with NDE's are interviewed is that some of us have a review of our entire lives in a matter of seconds (minutes); That'd bite big time.
Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys.

Trying to get prepared. im still young, 29.....I have to make sure my kids and wifey will be alright w/o me. I'm not scared of death itself. Im scared for my family living w/o me. Im not a religious guy so death doesnt mean to much to me, Spirtually speaking. Its just hard to think of my kids w/ no daddy...(and we know my wife can never find a guy better then me )
I dont believe in an afterlife so that kind of makes it simple. Im good with just not exsisting anymore. No need for a heaven or a hell. IMO Dead is Dead and this makes it much easier for me. I dont like to complicate things in my life (or death).
    Mark Twain:
Surely the ass who invented the first religion ought to be the first ass damned
Faith is believing in that which I know ain't so.

    Of Course!

I think our society tries and make us fear death as something horrible. We must learn to make peace with death and always be prepared. Death is a natural part of life. When someone dies, their life should be celebrated. Celebrate their accomplishments.

    Thumbs up Curious discoverer

We all come and go. What's hapening between is called LEFE.

Nobody knows when we will depart. Or should we set a time and day? This is why I'm not affraid. Why should I? I'm a curious discoverer and an adventurer. I want to know what's up there!!

In mean time, Enjoy the LIFE because, "hey, you never know." There's a change that you exit this world today.

P.S. It reminds me to get a haircut and buy a new lipstick. Yoohoo!!

I am not afraid to die - only the process in which I go am I afraid.

I am afraid to leave my children, most of the time, it's the mother that holds a family together - men have another place in the family role, (usually, not always)

I hope my time doesnt come for at least 20-30 years so I can see my children through some tough times growing up and starting thier own families.

My best friends mom died last week - they found her dead, age 65, good health, probably a heart attack. Its probably the best way to go - but not at 65!!

I am also afraid to leave my children and family.. but of actually dying Im not afraid.. after you lose so many relatives and people you love its not so scary anymore to think about death because I think about being reunited with my loved ones.
