Dr. Cook is the only doctor in a small town, and he has been using his power to "remove" unpleasant or harmful members of the community. When his surrogate son Jimmy, now a doctor himself, arrives on the scene, the two engage in a battle of morals. The most fascinating part of this play is that there is nothing clear cut about it. Levin manages to argue both sides of the issue convincingly and engagingly.
