I think the greater question is why hasn't the shooter been arrested?
The shooter was obviously not acting is self-defense as he claimed, and has a violent past. The victim had no record, and was armed with a bag of Skittles. Had this been a white victim with no record and a black shooter with one, would he still be walking free?
Police initially told Martin’s family that George Zimmerman, 28, admitted to shooting Martin, 17, on Feb. 26, after he called 911 and reported a suspicious person, said the attorney, Benjamin Crump. Zimmerman said the shooting was in self-defense, police said.
Zimmerman, who is white, has not been charged in the death of Martin, who was black. Police in Sanford, where the shooting occurred, told Martin’s family that Zimmerman had a “squeaky-clean” record and that’s why they had not arrested him, according to Tracy Martin, the teen’s father.
Crump said public records show that Zimmerman was arrested in Orange County in 2005 on charges of resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.
“They just lied to the family,” Crump said. “They just couldn’t see why [Zimmerman] would do anything wrong or be violent. But not only do you know the guy killed this kid, because he admitted to it, you knew that he has a propensity for violence because of his past record.” Source
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No one is entitled to their own facts.
Apparently you slept through the first 200 years of American History class and didn't wake up until the teacher got to the part where white people were enslaved by blacks and then after the white people were freed the black people kept treating the white people as if they were slaves by lynching them, beating them, denying them the right to vote, denying them justice in the courts, and so on.
So I can see how you don't understand the difference.
Not often actually. Statistically speaking black people kill black people the most and white people kill white people the most. And as far as interracial hate crimes white against black is more prevalent than black against white. But all violence is negative anyways.
