So how is everyone's orange tree coming along

So how is everyone's orange tree coming along?

It was started by the guy in Allentown that sells the tomatos and seeds. My friends and I check his stuff out when he has his tomato sale each spring... It was started in 2004.

    This was in June 2006

Can you take a seed from an orange, put it in some dirt in a pot in your home, and grow a successful orange tree? Or do you need some kind of cross pollination?

I dont know. I bought it after it was hatched. I dont even know if I'll even have oranges from it. One of my plant friends has one in case we need two to make an orange.

I'll prep it over the weekend for it's winter sit in the front room. I'll remove some soil from the top layers and replenish it with something from foxfarm soils.

I'll also prune any branches that will make it's shape weird. Another reason I remove some of the top soil is BUGS. Over the summer some may lay eggs before winter... By removing some of the top layers I suppose I'm removing the bugs too

Who wants an orange tree? Just under 3 feet tall. It's very healthy and will be topped off with some new soil.

    Orange tree

There is a lot of new growth on it plus it's been pruned to grow evenly.

    Orange tree

Who ever wants it has to really rake care of it. A green thumb type person Supposedly you can actually get an orange or two.

If my mom was alive - I'd pm you in an instant - I tell you that woman could take a dead plant and make it come to life- I kid you not - even if I took care of it, I would kill it

My mil has one and over the years has in fact gotten oranges out of it.

I wish I could do that - I hope it finds a great home!!!!!!!!!
