I wanted to use my macro lens and get some way close up shots but didn't want to overly bother it.

Yes, there has been a doe across the yard a few times... The neighbor has a larger dog which is probably keeping her away. Having the other neighbors out side with kids probably is not helping momma come to baby.

Absolutely great pictures. How far away were you?

And, if it the neighbor's dog keeps the doe away til hunting season, will you?

About a foot away. It's next to someones deck that has pine trees along the entire side.

I do not mean to bash Res' photo; It IS a beautiful creature
BUT, I've heard that people who have to live around deer all the time grow kinda tired of their "cuteness" saying how they make sickening noises,
are a hazard running into everything and not just cars,
    leave their mess EVERYWHERE-

'Bambi' is not a "kids's movie." It is propaganda for deer.

Back to the "cuteness" part of this thread-Is it possible that this fawn or baby deer, whatever its called is lost from its mother? Like bambi was?
