    Firehouse closing

    why are some parts of the city loaded with fire stations
    and others have none , Example why do they close
    engine 18, fillmore & genesee, ladder 11 fillmore near william
    Engine 16 Jefferson & kingsley ladder 9 Elmwood & virgina
    but keep open Engine 28 on lovejoy when its one of the least
    active houses and its few blocks away from sloan and not centraly located, its also surrounded by other fire houses engine 22 broadway & bailey, Engine 31, ladder 14 at bailey & Doat,
    Engine 35 & ladder 15 Bailey & clinton, Example Fillmore &
    Genesee wears the closet fire house ?

    If I remember correctly, the fire houses have a closing schedule that rotates. I will look into find more information on that.

    Don't think they are rotating anymore

    Politics plays a role in what gets closed, where the new hires are built, it isn't only call numbers...Lovejoy has a strong lobby.
