When I read that article, it wasn't clear if they all currently pay 10% towards their healthcare and the newbies would be paying 20% or just the newbies were currently paying 10% and it is was being upped to 20%.
Both the Depew cops and Cheektowaga cops are in contract negotiation about the same amount of time. The town of Hamburg has settled a contract after two years of working without a contract. If a contract like this was settled in Depew it would kill the txp, and in Cheektowaga there to would be increases in town taxes.
Back pay, raises, and still no Health Care Contribution by these people.
The only ones getting screwed are new cops they have to wait 7 years before you can make top rate, and pay 20 % into health care.. what wrong with the rest of them?

That's incredibly good pay for a place with very limited crime. I'm surprised no one raised any objections. Then again, there really aren't any taxpayer-type groups left in the area.
The story made no mention of actual pay, which includes overtime and pay for other duties. I'd love to see what that is.
