Thumbs down Budget Mess and Taxes

    WHAT A DISASTER

This is all temporary- you watch. Programs and services will be cut and the public will back down and demand they be restored. Medicaid costs continue to rise and taxes will be raised next year. This doesn't solve many problems, sure some of the patronage jobs will disappear, but the structural costs of government remain. Public employees in general are making too much compared to the rest of us. Until that changes and Medicaid reform is taken on- its still a sinking ship. And if there was ever need for reform and change- its with local school districts. But heaven forbid you endanger the children!!! If there's one benefit to all of this- is a wakening up of the taxpayers and finally some realization by the pols that enough is enough and change is needed if this area is ever going to prosper through private sector growth. Unfortunately its Albany that still hasn't sensed that the public has had it.

Through them all out and get new ones.
It still won't change. It is not only the politicans, but the process is rotten too.
The same yokels who run the business community here will still be the behind the scenes major players and nothing will change.
Just the other day ol' Andy Rudnick was quoted in the paper as saying "A moderate mix of property and sales tax as well as some cut backs might be alright if it gets things back on track."
Just what track and where does it lead?
People have pretty much told the politicians where to put any increase in the sales tax, and here you have one of the more vocal of the business community backing his lackey Giambra and saying we need higher taxes.
They don't want to loose Joel or the gravy train he is driving.
Get rid of Joel and they'll just buy the next guy.
    They already own the news.
"If you want to know what God thinks of money just look at the people he gave it to."

By the way, what happened to biker? I miss the old coot.
