I like Res' idea of mailing the forms to the people and cutting out the middle person. I am sure the seniors wouldn't mind paying the postage (that the town would incur) for this convenience.

It's not a bad idea but it's the abuse of the system that is the whole reason for the setup the way it is. If there was a way for legally for the doctors to have the photo id's and what other identification needed copied onto the paperwork, mailed out, and then have the permit mailed out to those who need them ,that would be best.

Deb Bucki putting politics ahead of people (as usual).

Deb bucki is reportedly angling hard to add a new hire to the bloated town clerk's office by bringing on an overpaid/less than stellar (and unqualified for anything) minor party official to feather her own political nest at the expense of unwitting taxpayers.

Also, does everybody/anybody agre that Bucki should finally remove her campaign signs from the public's property now that the snow piles are gone and her signs are popping back in to view?

This is exactly why these offices shouldn't be elected, the politicians are only looking towards the next election and beholden to the political party bosses.

Why can't the authority to distribute handicap permits be given to doctors?

There seems to be a lot of posturing gobbledeegook happening lately.
let's see:
1. We have Ward holding his every election year 'throw the assessments out meeting' and this on the heels of Ward's attempt to have minor party official Drongosky appointed to the town board - seemingly to feather Ward's political nest on the taxpayers' dime.
2. Bucki angling hard to appoint yet another minor party official to a highly paid and unnecessary deputy post in the town clerk's office - seemingly again merely to feather her own political nest on the taxpayers' dime. By the way, the minor party official being eyed by Bucki for the highly paid and unnecessary deputy post has no qualifications other than being a minor political party official Ward's "yes man".
