Are they still on the force? Would they become civil service employees?
Why merge? Abolish the NFTA transit police and have the Sheriff's assume their duties. Any transit officer can take a civil service test and seek to become a sheriff.

Thanks for the reading. It's nice to know some of the management got caught in their own lies. All but one of the officers are still working for the NFTA. The rest would be wise to take their retirement and get out.
Even the Sheriff admits merging the forces is a good move. It will save the County money for training, and other expenses, while filling open positions. There's more to the story, I'm sure. So we'll wait and see what happens.
I'd rather be hated for who I am... than loved for who I'm not!
The goons at the NFTA will fit right in with the Sheriff's Department
FAIR FORCE, OR FOUL?
Nine seconds after they enter the room, two deputies push a handcuffed inmate head-first into a concrete block wall.
The struggle continues, and 23 seconds later, now with five deputies in the room, they shove him into the wall again, and the inmate falls to the floor.
More than a minute goes by. At times, there are up to six deputies in the room. Again, they push the inmate against the wall.
This is a video Erie County didn't want you to see.
