Primaries and their role locally in politics

"Primaries and their role locally in politics"

I know the final elections are important but how important do you all think the primaries our in shaping our community?

Is the the easiest way to get rid of people who have put us in a hole?

Primaries are the best place to kiss the old has beens good by. and help your own party get new faces that might accidently do the right thing.

    I believe it is

it is a way to send a clear signal of no confidence to an incumbent who is running for re-election. Even if he/she does win the primary, they will need to buckle down for the main election and do some major pressing of the flesh, (so to speak) as the people who did not vote for them in the primary, will probably not vote for them in the main election.
