A revitalization project in the city of Jamestown hangs on the release of federal funding but bureaucratic delays are slowing the effort.

At issue is $380,000, secured three years ago by U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, who is calling on two governmental agencies -- the Department of Labor and the Federal Transit Administration -- to approve the funding before year's end. If action is not taken by close of 2008, Jamestown will lose out on the federal aid.

New York's senior senator has written to the heads of those agencies asking them to sign off on the appropriation.
