    It's Whose?

"Whose Lifestyle Center Is It Anyway?" (based on the comedy game show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?") will feature members of the Amherst Town Board playing against members of the general public... Oh, and special interest groups.

The contestants from each team will be goaded on by Josh Boose from WGRZ (he was the closest thing we could find to Drew Carey... Well, a cuter and cuddlier Drew Carey.)

Boose will give Amherst Town Board members a mock up scenario of what people would possibly do at the proposed Amherst Lifestyle Center and the members will then have to act out silly scenes using only props and miming. The general public and special interest group members will then have to decide what scenes the Town Board members are acting out. Correct answers will warrant arbitrary "points" given out by Josh Boose.

Occasionally, Amherst Town Board members will be asked to make up impromptu songs about the proposed Lifestyle Center and dance around to everyone's amusement. One song goes like this,

    "Doo dee doo dee doo
We'll so what if there's lead in the ground?
It's the best demographic location around
We got students who are landlocked and they got no place to go
They can't get far off campus or go into Buffalo...

So bring on the Lifestyle Center... Ooooooh!"

I'm just here to make people laugh. And to confuse people. Oh, and to irritate people.

    Matching Sweatshirs Are Required

Remember the classic show "Supermarket Sweep?"

Well, now Buffalo has "Broadway Market Sweep."

Several contestants must run through the Broadway Market and try to buy as much as they can from the few remaining vendors and prove to them that it is worth paying the raised rents and staying tenants in the market.

The contestants will then take the show outside and run through the business community, begging businesses to set up shop in the Broadway Market.

Note: During the most recent taping, one of the contestants slipped on a butter lamb and was slightly injured... and had to forfeit the game.

    Inner Ring Torch and Twang!

"Eggertsville Star" is WNY's answer to "Nashville Star!"

Several contestants from the "bad part of Amherst" will compete to see who is the most talented in the way of singing country songs about Eggertsville's plight.

Billy Bob Smith was the third runner up with this little ditty sung to the tune of the country classic "Mamma's Don't Let Your Babies Group Up to Be Cowboys."

"Neighbors, don't rent your houses out to college students
They'll have crazy parties and always be drunk
They'll puke in your gardens and sleep in your trunk..."

Patsy Sue came in second place with a tribute to Willie Nellson's "On the Road Again" entitled "Eggert Road Again."

But the winner was Bucky Bob Brown with his Bluegrass twinged, washboard and mandolin hit, "Northtown Plaza Blues."

Yes, this is my final answer...

"Who Wants to Push Away a Millionaire?" is Buffalo's answer to "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?"

Only in this show local skeptics will compete for the best answer as to why they believe Bashar Issa will never actually go forward with any of his plans for Statler Tower redevelopment or any other business development in the city of Buffalo.

Kristen Donnelly (WGRZ's token brunette reporter) will host the show and ask the contestants questions regarding why Issa can't be successful in Buffalo.

    The options are:

a.) Because the City of Buffalo is too masochistic and doesn't feel it actually deserves to move forward.
b.) Because certain groups in the city will try to sabotage anyone and anything that wants to improve downtown.
c.) Because we don't trust rich kids, especially foreign rich kids.
d.) Because Bashar Issa isn't real; he's an animatronic robot created by the members of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and the Economic Renaissance Corporation in a sick plot to see how people would react to the idea of spontaneous, voluntary private investment in the city.

Just had to "bump" this thread. With all this talk of Carl today, the "Where in the Region is Carl Paladino" theme song keeps going through my head

"Where In the Region is Carl Paladino?" will feature an a capella singing group and a bunch of other silly characters who gather around to pick apart clues as to where in the region local developer/cult figure Carl Paladino could be.

A computer generated cartoon Carl Paladino will fly across a map of the Greater Buffalo Niagara region and settle into a mystery location. A face will pop up on the screen saying things like, "Mr. Paladino is in an area surrounded by large houses and shopping centers. There are a lot of middle aged women with Botox injections and kids named Ashlyn and Jayden..." Contestants will then scream out, "I know! I know! Clarence! He's in Clarence."

On the next episode the face on the screen will say, "Mr. Paladino is in a place with a lot of people with dreadlocked hair and black rimmed glasses. They are carrying cups of gourmet coffee and heading for a protest rally. They are being followed by street people asking for money." Contestants will then scream out, "I know! I know! He's in the Elmwood Village!"

    Bonus Round!
On today's episode of "Where In the Region is Carl Paladino?" they are featuring a BONUS ROUND.

The first contestant to answer correctly gets to go scouting with Carl for a location to erect a new building. (But be careful, the set of "Elmwood Village Squares" is across the lot and Tim Tielman and Justin Azzarella might run off of the set to follow you and Carl and start complaining...)

*A capella singing* "Doo doo doo... Where in the region is Carl Pa-la-di-nooooooooo...."

Clue #1: He's in an area full of large buildings, most of them over 40% vacant. There aren't a lot of people around, except for a bewildered Social Services employee coming back from her lunch hour... It looks like she is eating a taco or a slice of Gino and Joe's pizza. There is a large traffic circle with taxi drivers who sit waiting all day but never seem to pick anyone up. A bunch of sex offenders who live in an old hotel that was converted to a halfway house are heading for a large library to look at internet porn. Now and then a group of sound guys come in to set up a free concert on a stage next to an old monument.

Clue #2: He's in a town that is full of a mixture of new subdivisions and older, more "village like" areas with post war housing. There is a racetrack nearby... Lee Chowaniec is telling people that Wal Mart is bad.

Clue #3: He's in an area of the city with a 46.6% poverty rate. Many of the residents do not speak English. There is a lot of old and deteriorating housing. Once a year however the residents try to rise above their poverty stricken gloom by sliding up a greasy pole.

Clue #4: He's in a area to the south of the city where nearly every dwelling is priced at over $300,000. There are a toy factory and an aerospace precision control parts factory nearby. The women are all wearing hand knit scarves and beaded earrings made by a local artisan.

Oh, that's the game the Buffalo Niagara Partnership played! They pushed away Tom Golisano, remember?

You are so freaking funny and creative. Have you ever thought about going into advertising or marketing?
If you don't like gay marriage blame straight people. They're the ones who keep having gay babies.

    Thanks

Hey, I heard Carl won the primary. Maybe we could market our game show pitch to him?
