Lancaster candidates talk of issues, not the past

Erie County Legislator Dino Fudoli confessed his past demons publicly in the first few moments of Tuesday evening's debate for Lancaster town supervisor.

Then, the revelation involving his past drug use faded into the ornate curtained walls of the Lancaster Opera House as Fudoli and incumbent Supervisor Robert H. Giza squared off to exchange viewpoints on issues facing Lancaster residents.

Fudoli, 40, the Republican candidate, began his three-minute opening statement referring to Tuesday's Buffalo News front-page article and admitted that "at one point in time" he was an addict. He explained that it is not something he is proud of, but it is "something that is part of [his past]" and that overcoming the problem has changed his life.

The statement that angered me by Mr. Bob Giza, "My family and I had nothing to do with the information in the newspaper." Yet Mr. Giza and is representatives were passing out literature about the very thing that Mr. Fudoli spoke about. Mr. Giza is a lier.
    Is this 100% true?

Here is a comment that everyone in cheektowaga can learn from

Having any one political party, be it Demoncrat, Republican or Independent, in total control of a Town for too long leads to numerous problems. It is time Lancaster balanced out the Town Board and Supervisor positions by electing the Republican ticket this time. The multi decade one-party rule in Lancaster has led to the desperate dirty politics we are now witnessing as exemplified by the timing of the Buffalo News front page article on Fudoli's past.
