From the Buffalo News:
Medina school superintendent charged with falsifying resume

The superintendent of the Media School District in Orleans County was arrested today on charges that he falsely claimed to have been a state trooper on his resume, State Police announced.

Richard M. Galante, 48, of Getzville, had been employed by the Medina district since July 2000 and been superintendent since August 2003.
Authorities said Galante allegedly claimed he had been employed as a state trooper from 1981 to 1998.

State Police said Galante had never been employed by the agency.
He was charged with one count of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, a low-level felony.

Galante was arraigned in the Town of Shelby Court by Town Justice Dawn Keppler. Bail was set at $500. He is due back in court on Aug. 14.
Whatever happened to checking references and background checks? He was employed by the district only 2 years after his alleged trooper employment. I wonder what he was really doing those 17 years.

Edit- Oops! It should be "Medina" not "Media" in the title.
