Right to possess a semi-automatic weapon? That's a good one.
One beautiful thing about having a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations is that every disaster is measured in terms of economic loss. It's sort of like getting your arm sheared off in a car accident and thinking, "Damn, now it'll take longer to fold the laundry" as blood spurts from your arteries. - The Rude Pundit

this is how the gov't takes freedoms away.....

They are smart enough not to go for the whole enchilada right away. so what they do is attack the problem in little pieces.

First, they take away a PORTION of a freedom that people can rationalize easily. For example, semi-automatic guns. People can say "well..... who really needs them? We can see their point...."

Next, they go further, and take a little more, such as making carrying a pistol next to impossible, unless you are acriminal scumbag, in which case you do not follow the gun laws anyway.

This is the gov't reigning in freedoms that our founding fathers thought were ESSENTIAL to LIBERTY.

You might not care about guns, who cares if they take those rights away; doesn't matter to you! Well, yes it does. Because when they are finished with guns, they will go after OTHER freedoms that will have a direct effect on you.

I do not support ANY reduction in personal liberties of any kind.
The truth from a troll is still the truth.

    Uh huh. Your point?

Where are any of the Bill of Rights absolute and without exception?

If they would allow it, I'd have my own Abrams Tank.

The constitution is for the People. The Bill of Rights, is for the Govt. The bill of rights describes pretty plainly what the gvt is NOT ALLOWED to do. And it even, says, basically, that if this document (Bill of Rights) Left anything out, you cant do that either. The Bill of Rights is for the Govt and what the Govt can, and can not do.

However the sad truth is, neither document means crap any more, even Bush said that the constitution is 'just a damned piece of paper'
