    Bandits headed to Champion's Cup

Only one obstacle stands between the Buffalo Bandits and the end of their 12-year championship drought.

The hosts proved far superior in a physical battle between the National Lacrosse League's two hottest teams Saturday night as the Bandits scored a resounding 19-12 victory over the upstart New York Titans in the East Division final before 11,012 at HSBC Arena.

With their fourth consecutive victory and ninth in the last 11 games, the Bandits (12-6) advanced to the Champion's Cup final for the eighth time in their 17-year history and will look to capture their fourth title, but the first since 1996.

The championship game will be in Buffalo, where the Bandits have won five straight games, at 7:30 p.m. next Saturday against the West Division champ, either the Calgary Roughnecks (8-9) or Portland LumberJax (7-10).

For the latest information on the Bandits and their title run, see Sunday's Buffalo News.

Yeah, 14-13. I listened to a bit of it on the radio. The arena was sold out and it sounded like a pretty good game!

I guess it will be re-broadcast on ESPN2 sometime next week.

Unfortunately , only we & Portland knew about the game or cared , but I'm told it's VERY big amongst the Native American tribes & peoples as I guess they invented the game ? I think it's pretty exciting myself , go Bandits , that's 4 championships in their 16 year history..........

Bandits won 14-13. Congrats to the Champs. I went it was a good time.

The game is supposed to be on ESPN2 Tuesday at 2pm.

Now if we could only get the Bills and Sabres to their level......

I'm torn in the topic of them getting coverage. In a way it's good that they're low key since it keeps the ticket prices very affordable (I think season tickets are $100)
but since they're a good team and it's a really fun game to go watch in person I'd wish they'd get more coverage

I'm really surprised they didn't have a live broadcast on tv, it was a championship game afterall. Not even the local time warner channel, I think ch13, showed it. But that channel shows Bisons games

    Buffalo Bandits Win NLL Championship

Buffalo, NY (WBEN/Canadian Press) - For the first time since 1996, the Buffalo Bandits are champions of the National Lacrosse League.

The Bandits led pole to pole, holding on for a 14-13 victory over the Portland LumberJax, in front of a wild capacity crowd at HSBC Arena.

Mark Steenhuis led the offensive attack, with five goals for Buffalo.
