    Misunderstood song lyrics

On the line of remember when....

Do any of you remember either yourself or someone else misunderstanding the lyrics of a song?

The song: Angel of the Morning has a line that says:
"Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby"

My foster daughter thought the line was "Just brush my teeth before you leave me, Baby"

Not as bad as a little one saying the Pledge of Allegiance ...
"....and to a public, for Richard Stands..."

    Or the Our Father...
"...and lead us not into ten stations..."

"Just brush my teeth before you leave me, Baby"

That's what I always thought it was.

And I suppose, like my daughter, you thought the words to Amazing Grace were "That saved a wench like me"

I could tell you a lot of funny things about my kids - but then we'd have to change the thread to "Kids say the darndest things....." or should that go under ...remember when?

"I called her up to say I'm sorry, I just can't have lunch today,
cuz the boss just called, and he's flying in from LA."

    name that tune?

Are we using lyrics.com for this thread or will we trust our memory?

A one-hit wonder from sometime during the 80's.

John Schneider (sp?) aka Bo Duke, the Dukes of Hazard
song: "At the sound of the tone".

Well, there were a few I misunderstood, but the only one I can think of at the moment is when I was little I used to think Leroy Brown had a raisin in his shoe.
