Has the Availibity of Pornography Ruined relationships

The easY availabilty of pornography has ruined many clergy, Lawyer, doctors, policemen, Politicians including many marriages.... how about teenagers and children. The addiction of pornography has even created a show called "To Catch a Predator seen on MSNBC.

Who would have thought that sexual acts on a HOME-WORK computers could mesmerize the whole nation and world with mass perversion that leads to temporary insanity Tht brings about UNREVERSABLE CHOICES THAT RUIN CAREERS AND LIVES.

So, what are you saying? More marriages would be happier if porn on computers did not exist?

I think Bring has a point.

I think that the Internet has affected the general public's sexual attitudes in that it makes porn more accessible.

But perhaps the most obvious thing I have seen working with college students is that many of them are a lot more sexualized now than we ever were as teenagers or college kids back in the day. These kids grew up with the Internet always being there and having EVERYTHING, including porn, thrown on the screen right in front of you. Back in the day, kids may have caught a boob on late night cable TV and that was about it.
I'm just here to make people laugh. And to confuse people. Oh, and to irritate people.

Actually, what you are talking about has nothing to do with porn. It has to do with perverts who apparently enjoy sex with children.

Men who look at porn should have no reason to worry about having their careers and lives ruined. Men who look at child porn or try to have sex with a minor -- they can, do, and should have the book thrown at them. Personally, I think any man (or woman, for that matter, but we'd have to come up with another method of dealing with them) who is convicted of soliciting sex or any sexual act with a minor child should be castrated. Painfully.

Whats the difference between the availablity of porn and the availability of watching murder, robbery, fighting, dysfunction, conspiracy, delution/denial[religion], hypocracy/lies[politics], etc etc etc........

If there is a problem with porn and children/young adults then those who ignore civil principle and ethics should just be sterilized and/or euthanized.

I believe that the internet, whether in terms of porn, chat rooms, or dating sites has sped up the demise of the "American" family...now the issue of course is whether the internet is the cause, or merely the implement.....one must probe deep in to the psyche of the human being to determine whether the desire to live a hedonistic lifestyle is there all the time and merely regulated...which I suspect it is...the internet merely makes it easier to succumb to temptation.....the startling thing to me is that women above 40, who twenty or so years ago defended their "reputation" with such vigor that it was often tough to even get a good kiss on the 1st date now seem ready willing and able to hop in the sack (not all of them mind you, but more than I expected) immediately after dinner....I am also amazed at the women, again older women, who have no hesitancy about emailing me photos of their intimate body parts.....While that is a good thing , ha ha, I am nonetheless somewhat troubled by it and find it rather scandalous and demeaning . ....Sodom and Gomorrah are not far off, me thinks.

    Cultural Demise?

PORN,DRUGS, ALCOHOL, are vices that will always be available for those who seek it.
EXCERCISING self control and common sense what differentiates those from human to animal.
LIKE any other act, knowing where the boundaries are, of right from wrong is what keeps many of us law-abiding.
I am not defending any of these vices, ...but moral upbringing is what gives humans the tools, to not give in ,but to use proper judgement of right from wrong, acceptable to excess. OF WHICH TODAY THERE SEEMS TO BE VERY LITTLE OF. Single parent households and babies having babies!!
MANY STATES have different ages where consensual sex is acceptable..there should be a standard age where it is legal to have sex with another without prosecution.
AND YES!!CASTRATION should be a punishment that is accepted as a form of punishment to those who are convicted...and it would serve as an ideal deterrent, and a perfect deterrent to prevent repeat offenders!!!

Used to listen to call-in psychologist shows and usually WOMEN would complain that their boyfriends and husbands have been "hiding"
    porn websites/photos and
that its adversely affected their relationship

Its not just pornography, but those who have used the net to meet other people (while in committed relationships) and cheat with other people.

Yes, even women have met others on the net thanks to the literally thousands of singles sites

When you get to the basic question, the web DOES bring porn to those who otherwise would never darken the doorway of a porno shop with their presence.

Yes, the net has brought the porno shop directly to consumers who would never be seen in an adult "toy" and "video" store!

Its exactly the same as the huge increase in online purchases: Ease and avaliability of viewing and buying and in the case of porn,
easily accessed filth or "art" depending on your views

Women often tend to feel as though they're "competing" with the images their husbands and boyfriends saved on their computers

Child pornography? Those who view/save child porn images and seek to have sex with minors as Kel said SHOULD have "the book thrown at them" AND be castrated

But here's something that's been bugging the living s---t out of me for months:

The telecoms, NSA;All the "good" government programs and "helpful corporations" spying on our internet transactions haven't been able to catch nearly every G-D child porn site on the web, shut it down and prosecute & jail members and owners of these websites?

The phone companies and government have plenty of time to spy into every F-ng thing we do,
but can't keep track of most child porn websites (and other criminal activity) on the net?

If a relationship is ruined by voluntary use of the internet via pornographic images, then these relationships didn't have a solid foundation to begin with.

Look at the divorce rates PRIOIR to the net's popularity and NOW, as a measure of sorts.
Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys.

    You're lucky.

Once I was researching mortgages, and home buying info and there were little porn pictures posted at the bottom of the page!

I've seen porn posted on moderated message boards like this before the mod gets a chance to take it down.

I believe the easy availability of porn on the internet has definitely caused more people to develop problems with it. I don't have any statistics, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if we see the number of porn addicts is much greater than pre-internet days.

Coming in late on this one - Yes, I believe it can affect relationships and I also believe the Internet should not be a delivery of such services due to parental un-control. Our kids today are too old for their age. Broadcasting in any form must take some responsibility.

Let me tell you what I have learned over 25 years in the computer biz....

The net spread porn and there's no question about it.

Before the net was "consumerized" computers were for business data/educational use. Not really entertainment other than computer games...Only people who had photo's on thier computers owned scanners not digital cameras.

Once the net was "consumerized" and digital camera dropped it price the adult industry jumped on the net.

The digital camera/webcam is what got the "non-computery" people on the internet. The home "porn" industry is alive and well and is a BILLION dollar market.

Another thing. From all my experience in rescuing people's data, men are no worse than women when it comes to porn. Women are also more addicted to the chat room thing compared to men. Some women sit home all day while thier men work. How do I know that? Because when they bring thier computer in for repair they go threw withdrawls to get it back and not for "work" related issues. It's because they don't want thier chat buddies thinking something happened to them.

Whoa, do you have to sign a nondisclosure form? I would be totally embarassed to be in their position (for lack of a better term).
