Too bad there are no figures on how many of those 5,000 people were public sector workers that left the area for better deals elsewhere.

I'd venture to guess it's not too many!!!!!!

Wow they will come out of the woodwork now. Western NY is the land of milk and honey if your in the public sector. We are called cash cows for those people. The cool part about the whole thing is some day all that will be left in this part of the country will be the public sector ones. That would make a good twilight Zone story wouldnt it.

    Interesting!

If only the public sector employees were left in this area. Would they still support the same inept politicians who want to raise their taxes?

Cgoodspeed and VegasDude are right on. Maybe it's difficult to hear but the truth is the truth. Unfortunately they don't balance their arguments with some of the positives of this region.

But yeah, there is critical mass here in WNY, which means too many government employees, gov't retirees, union workers, and union retirees, lawyers, all of whom believe in the entitlement mentality which is killing WNY and NYS. It's sad that one of the biggest businesses is legal industry where their profits are derived from getting money out of deep pockets and not doing anything productive.

I think that sometimes shock value is the only thing that will wake people up, but around here, I doubt it !

No one is debating that, bflo. The problem is that these two, particularly Vegas, constantly come in to BASH the region just as an "in your face" type thing. They don't ever offer and real constructive criticism or ways to solve the problem.

    That's why people are annoyed.

Buffalo said it all,You want to get this area back on its feet, then crush the public sector block.Nothing will ever change here as long as so many owe their soul to the company store.Oh I could give a crap about annoyed people, most of the ones i pee off are public sector bums. This Region has sucked for years and will continue to suck. Crush the public sector block.

Just watch TV. Every time that Child Health Plus add comes On I spit blood.
I wonder back in the Wagon Train days if their were two types of Wagons? Regular size ones and Short ones. And when the trains hit Western NY they left all the short ones here becuase they knew that the Government would take care of these free cheesers.

Well, that won't change until the people demand it.
