The religious BS is even more hypocritical. I have a hard time believing the person or philosophy that is Jesus Christ would even come close to endorsing that nationalist, anti-immigrant, anti-poor and downright ignorant "New Constitution." I may be an atheist, but I haven't forgotten the lessons I learned the first 18 years of my Catholic life and none of them are embodied by that crap.
What does Jesus have to do with this? So, now all Southeners are Christian? And, what does this have to do with your hypocriticalness? You're an athiest so your exempt? What does being Catholic have to do with anything?
First Amendment rights are like muscles, if you don't exercise them they will atrophy.

7 of the 11 articles had absolutely nothing to do with the poor or disadvantaged. One would have to think very little of the poor and disadvantaged to say otherwise.
Accusations of racism are always made by the same people that can't handle frank talk. They're also made by people that feel the poor and disadvantaged are too stupid and too helpless to help themselves. Coddling them doesn't work, history has proven this over and over.

    "Frank talk?" That's laughable.

ARTICLE I : You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
Where has anyone demanded the right to a new car, TV or any form of wealth?

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended.
Unless I use the word "retard," eh?

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.
Everybody hates civil litigation until they need a day in court. The misunderstanding of due process and liability in this country is astounding. "Frankly," where has anyone asserted the right to be free from harm? Argue against the right to your day at court at your own peril.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.
It's always interesting how plight of the poor is characterized this way. Are there abuses, sure. Just like in every other economic class in this society. But again, while we're being "frank," where or when has anyone asserted the "right" to a free meal or housing. Maybe instead of "growing weary" of the poor, we could stop being ignorant of the cyclical nature of poverty and realize it does not occur in a vacuum.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.
Because an ostensibly healthier society might be a dangerous one. Nevermind that other western societies with free health care all have better and mroe efficient systems than ours. But were a step or two above Cuba, so that counts for something, right? How much have you people paid into your health plans this year? Public housing, btw, is not run by the poor that live in it, but by the same middle and upper classes that think this screed has merit.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.
Just like those countries that are bastions of civil rights: Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea, Sudan. . .

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.
Since when has prison been a "life of leisure?" (Except for the white-collar Federal joints that have golf courses, I mean.) Seriously, spend a day in a state prison and tell me how "leisurely" it was.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.
Except that "education and vocational" opportunities seem to be on the decline. And as evidenced by previous "Articles," "gladly help you along" does not seem like a goal of this ignorant rant.

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.
For the umpteenth time, when or where has anyone asserted the right to made happy? There are such things as oversimplifications and then there is this crap.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!
    Ah! Xenophobia.

ARTICLE XI : You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!!!!
This one, as I addressed before, is just the ignorant icing on the stupid cake.
One beautiful thing about having a government of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations is that every disaster is measured in terms of economic loss. It's sort of like getting your arm sheared off in a car accident and thinking, "Damn, now it'll take longer to fold the laundry" as blood spurts from your arteries. - The Rude Pundit

I don't think it's xenophobia. If you choose to emigrate elsewhere - France, Germany, Italy, India, China, you name it - you are expected to learn their language. Why should it be different here? I don't agree with the "go back wherever you came from!" statement but I do think it's reasonable to expect an immigrant to learn the native language of the country THEY CHOOSE to move to.

There are some that flip out at duel/multilanguage signs and literature and I think that's extreme. Many come here to seek a new life because of poverty, oppression, etc in their native countries which never allowed them the privilege to learn a second language. By providing such signs/literature, we are giving them the means with which to understand and communicate within their new environment while they learn English. I look at it as a courtesy they deserve and we should provide, not as a problem or something to gripe about.

    Uhmm Wrong.
The foundation is the first step and that would be the declaration of independence.
With your head up your ass as usual the declaration of independence is the foundation. The constitution describes the laws built upon that foundation.
Of course it isn't important to you because it doesn't support your argument.

    Webster: Foundation
    1: the act of founding
2: a basis (as a tenet, principle, or axiom) upon which something stands or is supported
3 a: funds given for the permanent support of an institution

Without the declaration the constitution is meaningless.

Get over yourself guy. You are one of the most hateful people on this MB. Just because you paint the people you hate as Cigar smoking NeoCons does not make you any more righteous.

While the post was rather tongue-in-cheek, there is a LOT of truth in it. You feel just as long as you hate someone who is not supposedly helpless, it is ok to hate.

That by far makes you a worse offender.

No kidding. No one argues that point. Our laws are not to be religious in nature.

The Declaration of Independence, while a very stirring and poetic piece, has no force or effect as a legal document. It's not even the "foundation" of the Constitution. It was a declaration of war by the colonies against the British Empire. Nothing more, nothing less. It did not establish a new country and has no bearing or weight with regards to anything codified into law by the Constitution.

    Webster: Foundation
    1: the act of founding

How so? We didn't need a declaration to write the Constitution. We needed a declaration to tell England to piss-off. Which is all that document does. No doubt, it's a very important part of our history, but no more enforceable or tangible to the Constitution than the Federalist papers and other post-Revolutionary War publications (which is where the philosophy of the Constitution was debated and forged.)

Your sophistry is amazing but not surprising.
Nice try at whisking away the need for the declaration.
What good is the constitution if your still tied to England? Answer - No good at all. You can't have a President when your still the bitch of the King.
The first step is the declaration and that is the foundation. You can say "No it's not!" all you want. Your dead wrong.

No where in the bible does it call all poor people "perpetually lazy" either. If you are comfortable with painting all the poor "perpetually lazy" than I assume you're comfortable with me calling you an ignorant racist, right? I mean, while we're throwing around vague generalities. . .

You're American History teachers would be very disappointed with you (that or they were particularly crappy.) The Declaration of Independence was not necessary for the ratification of our Constitutional government (not the first form of government in the newly born United States, btw.) It was only necessary for the declaration of war with the empire. Outside of that it has no force, effect and/or weight in the law that governs this country. None, what-so-ever.
