    West Seneca Developmental Center

That is a lot of land that will be going up for sale. Who do you think is working behind the scenes to get the land for development? Will it be more subdivisions, or that big ice arena, or a new Wal Mart?

I would guess a mix subdivision, recreation. Its a bad location for a Wal Mart access wise. Leydecker and E&W would need a major expansion. Plus it could tie into Sunshine and Firemans park.

It's 400+ acres. A lot can fit there.

My bet would be residential. Let the guy who built Spaulding Lake, then wanted to level that neighborhood off the 33 have a crack at it.

I think it's owned by the State, and will probably take years of red tape. The local developer's local ties won't get them all that far. My bet is that someone from out of the area will develop it.

It will no doubt be mixed use, if and when it happens. But it seems that the latest trend in development is currently retirement communities. Remember, those of us in the baby boom aren't getting any younger. We just think we're still in our 20's, until we wakeup and realize how stupid getting on the skate board after a few "pops" really was.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that there are 400 staff still there for only 70 residents/clients/consumers/individuals...or whatever the hell they were calling them these days.

What makes you think it will be going up for sale. It is the next state prison.

Boy, are you 20 years behind.

The state is closing prisons, not building any new ones.

Guess I am 20 yrs behind, cause I thought prisons were NYS's fastest growing industry.
Basicly, that is what it is right now.

They are closing 5 prisons. The shock camps are going.
