I, um, bet the grocery stores were packed today.

Hardly do I listen to weather warnings anymore. The media lately creates this whole stir of panic in their news casts so that ppl think ... "oh, no! a giant snow flake is going to land right where we live.... what ever shall we do?..."

Come on ppl.... it's Buffalo/WNY after all.

Look at how many news casts there have been yhis season where they imply that we have to hunker down only to wake up with 3 inches on the ground, and the weather guy (no one in particular) says.... the "storm front shifted"... blah, blah, blah!

Yeah, a "storm" is good enough to report on, but it seems lately the (local) media blows the whole thing out of proportion as if they are in Ka-hoots with Tops and/or Wegmans.

    Just my take on it.

I agree that the hype is too much. For all we know about the world, the weather is still a mystery. Did anyone warn us of the consequences of the October storm?

Get ready because it's here now.
70 MPH winds that dropped the temp from 62 to 5 in 3 hours today!!!

Yes, a 57 degree drop in temp in 3 hours!!
Let me articulate this for you:
"I'm not locked in here with them. They're locked in here with me!!"

My freaking house is shaking! I hate it when that happens.

On the lighter side, we've been trying to reduce the amount of trash we're creating. Unfortunately, that meant our garbage tote was too light and got blown away, somewhere...

I think the weather service was right this time. Neighbor's soffit and fascia was just blown off the front.

Its brutal out--I crawled on the freeway going about 35 the whole way downtown. Brutal.
Also, I'm hoping my fence blows down---I could use an insurance claim!

I woke up, heard the wind and told my husband that I'm keeping the kids home from school. As soon as I said that, one of them came up the stairs and said "There's no school today."
My lights have flickered a couple of times. I am not liking the thought of being without heat, so the oven is on. It has one of those electric starters. I don't know if it will still run if the electricity goes out.
For those that have no electricity, I hope it isn't too long before it goes back on and that you manage to stay warm.

Make sure your stove is closed...Don't need any unneeded poising going on. Be careful.
