    the old orphange

wazoo86Ferrucci will be working full time for the time . this will become the alice and mary show. why do we have a town clerk ? a useless position for a useless person . ask alice why nothing is being built where the old orphange once stood? I am a democrat however we should run the town like busniess. the politics would end. A year from know will see where this town improves,
    Why is that?

    Here's an uneducated guess:

Every time a project idea is thrown around (say senior housing), the nearby residents get up in arms. They're used to having what amounts to a park on their block. And, the William Street Taxpayers Association is a powerful little bunch.

    Here is another uneducated guess:

Cause the old orphanage right next door to Alice's house.

I still don't understand what that has to do with anything either. They let builders build anything near anyones home in cheektowaga. Look up and down union road and all the people with heavy traffic now on the streets off union.

No, I believe Res is talking about the former orphange on William St., Cheektowaga, near the I 90 William St. exit.

What's stupid is the fact that it in it's present state, it really IS a park. A park that nobody can use. Makes about as much sense as that brilliant brainstorm on the waterfront - you know, the swimless beach? We, as a region, are so backward.

I burned the orphanage down. Well, at least my mother always thought so...

    Build new houses

That orphanage land would be nice to put up $250,000-$300,000 houses like they have in Clarence. It would keep the value of the houses around it up, as well has let people live closer to civilization instead of having to live in Clarence, Pendelton, Orchard Park if you want a nice big house. There are a few houses right behind it that are in the 200k range, so high end housing wouldn't be that far out. And look at the tax revenue town hall could collect from those new houses. $10,000 a house per year...at least the way they tax us.
